I would never had guessed that.
North Korea is surprising.
I lol'd at Hong Kong and figured it was something to do with cheap exports.
That's China, not Russia (which is totally absent)
Muppy already got it last page.
in which case
Oh I'm actually mentioned.
Is Omni's map about hitting a certain GDP/capita?
McDonald's restaurants. This map, however, is inaccurate -- Iran never, never had a McDonald's franchise.
Edit2: if amadeus is right, my answer is also right
Except the Soviet Union had one McDonald's (McDonald's Canada rather than US was involved for political reasons) before it broke up.
According to wiki, there was one open in Iran over 3 days in July 1994, but there is no source or anything. And a google only brings up references to wikipedia. So it is highly dubious.
One dead giveaway is Africa -- there's only 3 countries with McDonald's restaurants in Africa - Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa. If you're stuck in Lagos or Nairobi, you've got to go thousands of miles for a Big Mac. But in the contiguous United States? Never more than 107 miles.
And Bosnia (its kinda weird we don't have a McDonalds), but I never noticed Bosnia exports toys, I mean wtf
Well at least with no McDonalds, then there will be less 300+ pound human cows walking around.
If you think McDonalds, or fast food in general, is to blame for America's obesity problem, you're being a weebit simplistic.
If you're nailing something to the wall and smack your finger with the hammer, it's easier to blame the hammer.
Fast food, and fast food culture are a big part of the problem..
I know it is not completely the fault of McDonalds, but it and the multitude of other fast-food restaurants are adding fuel to the fire so to speak.
Can we have confirmation? We can fit one more map into the 21 posts left!
