Dear guest,

Make yourself available and register, so we all can hear about your adventures. May it be heroic battles where you won or lost, may it be your strategic moves that made the foe to fall. Or is it only general questions about Civilization?

It doesn't matter, YOUR knowledge is OUR knowledge and for you to sit there, smirking at the screen, not telling us the ultimate strategy....is not right.

Dear guest, you're invited and forever welcomed by the players of this grounds, to share your wits with your friends and to teach or learn, whatever is your preference.

Do it and do it now, register and be one of the Fanatics, you are most welcome.

...some of the guests are actually members, they just choose for people not to be able to identify what forums they are browsing etc (otherwise known as the "Ghost" setting -- which is in you User options area)
There's the occasional young un' who isn't allowed to register by their parent(s)/gaurdian(s).
There's those who are at work, and don't want to sign in incase they leave evidence of slacking ;)
There's those who can't be bothered to type their name and password in, cause they're too damn lazy :mischief:

The actual Guests may just be looking for information, and don't like the concept of internet boards. We've got enough spammers anyways :)

The problem with guests is that they take resource from the site and don't give anything back to CFC or it's members who do bother to post.

If the guests are really causing so much problem then I guess you could disable guests' viewing permission, although I think that would eliminate much popularity...

I disagree. Silence, after all, is golden. If everyone that surfed here also posted, we'd have tons more crap to wade through. This would contribute to the dilution of quality of the material currently present.

Everytime you see information on the Internet, do you "pay back" and give the webmaster some info from you?

I don't see what's the problem with someone choosing not to register, if they have don't have anything to say. But if someone has the "ultimate strategy," as gozpel says, they probably should share it; not that they have to, just that it'd be nice. But I doubt most guests have any ultimate strategies (or even anything at all, that hasn't been said before).

I see.

I posted this thread in the General Discussion Forum, because of my knowledge of all forums..ppl go to the General area first.

And it wasn't to invite "spammers", merely to invite those people that sit and read everything and likes CIV, but doesn't have the faith in themselves that they could contribute. I simply told them they can SO get involved and learn.

Now this forum is probably the last they will look in, but I'm not a Mod and my say is worth very little.

"good work for nothing, is still work...and doesn't mean it is done for no reason!"

Right.

And I consider your post as spam as well, as I already understood those things when I posted in the first place. But that doesn't mean the whole wide world understand and share your ideas of how it works.

By advertising in a simple thread, you really believe every hijacker on earth will grab the chance to spam our forums?

I see it as just a nudge by the elbow to invite those that hasn't decided yet and not as a "threat"

You are proabaly safe anyways Gainy bo, even if you seem a bit paranoid :D
