Dunno if any of you guys like GnR, but I myself am a huge fan. Anyways they seem to be finally getting their act together, their doing a European tour right now and as I type this they are performing at Rock in Rio. It's live on http://music.aol.com/network_live/concert_videos/rock_in_rio/live There's probly only a few songs left on the show as I myself tuned in late, but if your a GnR fan this is something you don't want to miss.

Oh God. Would GnR just die already? Why does the worst performer in the history of rock and roll (Axle Rose) actually think people will attend his concerts which he doesn't attend himself 90% of the time.

I don't follow the group. Well, actually, I am quite ignorant about their type of music, but anyway, I just read in a Spanish newspaper that the concert in Madrid was quite disappointing, and the only one who wasn't so bad was Axle Rose. Seems that the rest of the group is quite new and they are not used to play live in front of big audiences.

I realy dont follow the group and kind of ignorant about their type of music.

Anyone think that GnR are touring to get their name out there so they can release that album they've been working on since 1990 or something which has cost tens of millions to make?

The Album Chinese Democracy has been on the back burner for 10 years and has cost an estimated 13 million dollars to produce so far. Its not G'n'R just Axl and a pack of dick heads. Still love old G'n'R but I need an album to make a proper judgement.

Aren't the former members of GnR in Velvet Revolver?
I think 3 of them are. Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan

Matt joined G'N'R later in their career didn't he? Velvet Revolver- more G'n'R than G'n'R

I think many people that went to their concerts would have to disagree with you.

Also its Axl.

I like Guns n' Roses and I went to their concert at Rock in Rio. But that was 5 years ago.

As someone living in Rio I can safely say that there is no Rock going on right now

Unless they're using this name for a rock event outside Rio, what would be pretty lame.

I don't know I didn't see the show in Madrid, but the show they put on last night was incredible. Or at least I thought so. Axls voice seemed a bit ragged in some parts, but in others it was incredible. As for the other members they all sounded pretty good, but I agree, they're not used to big crowds yet. But once they do get used to it, I think they are going to be great. AOL has got the concert running reruns right now. I'm not sure how long its gonna last but if you missed it the first time, or just want to watch again http://music.aol.com/network_live/concert_videos?ncid=AOLMUS00050000000031 there ya go.

Hopefully we will see Democracy out this year. It seems to me though if they finish up these European dates and still no album they will lose any little bit of whatever it is they have that have made them last this long without any new material. But IMO it seems likely to be out this year, Axl seems to have come out of his shell, and I've heard him on the Eddie Trunk show saying it will be out this year. But we've all heard that before, so I take that with a bit of skepticism. I'm thinking if it does come out probably November, but hoping September to be honest, only because September marks the 15th anniversary of the Use Your Illusion albums.

Anyways though, enough on that. Enjoy the show, or don't, whatever.

I remember GnR's last 'tour'. It was 3 or 4 years ago and they were supposed to play Hampden in Glasgow. Then they cancelled the whole tour. I'll believe this one when I see it.

I've got it a whole lot better. G'nR will play 2 kilometeres (1 1/4 mile) from my house and I get to go for free, drink beer and lie down on the grass with friends. I repeat: for free.

Non-CFC thread about it

I saw G'nR at the Donnington Monsters of rock, that would have been about 1987. They could certainly perform well then....but now...I'm not so sure.

They are headlining the Sunday at Download Festival, Donnignton on June 11th. Thats my best friends 21st, we are going to be so hammered then....plus worn out from all the great bands playing that weekend:)
