GURPS WW2 Campaign

Well, mor or less everything would be appreciated, so I don't have to click all the links in the first post all the time :D

The man is an average height, with light brown hair and a slight build.

He tries to communicate to you in what appears to be Dutch.

The interior of the house seems pleasant enough, with moderate furnishings and family pictures- it's hard to believe that there's a war going on out there.

A woman approaches, most probably the man's wife, she hols a babe in her arms and is trying to comfort it.

She says "Hello, we do not speak good English, do you know Dutch?"

NOTE: Lord Widowmaker can speak Dutch

All right, I'm in the garden. What do I see?

A few pretty flowers to you left, and a small garden shed to your right.

There is a tree next to the house and a more yellow flowers beneath it.

The garden is about 20 yards by 20 yards.

At the other end is the white house, with a back door that is now open.

There are a few tools resting on the shed, a small, sturfy spade, a trowel and a rake.

You can hear the Germans getting closer.

NOTE: The gate is still open!

LWM asks the Dutchman (In Dutch.) "May we please enter?" Whilst pointing his khukuri at him.

I head on over to the house.

He replies (in Dutch).

"Yes yes, I was telling you to for ages! Please, sit down, we have some food and water if you would like some, and then there is something I must show you."

The man half turns and then looks back.

"Oh yes, and you can't stay here too long, I fear they may come back once they realise you are not there..."

He sends a worried glance at his wife, and then back to you.

Well almost all of the stats are real (shots, RoF etc.) but i'm having to make up the damage and range stats, that's why I asked if you could give a few of those from GURPS WW2  .

hmm Gurps lite 4th ed
For example a 9mm pistol dose 2d+2 pi
(Since the only stat which reflects it power is DX to hit)

A rifle 7.62 (AK47 calibar) dose 7d pi damage

Since Cloth or basic clothing has a DR moification of 0 then the shot dose full damage, While a imetal helmet has DR 6 That means what ever damage is done is reduced by 6 points.

"What's the ol'd Dutchy wanna show us?
Widowmaker, go ask 'im."
As Cockney grabs an apple, and takes a huge bite out of it.

FF, could you help me?
I just recieved GURPS WWII this morning, and some things confuse me;

The biggest problem I'm having are with skills.
I've looked through the Lite rules, and I couldn't work out how many points skills are worth.

Also, on some preset characters, their skills read:
Camouflage(M/E)IQ[1]-12
What do the numbers in the square brackets and afterwards mean?
And what is the difference between basic and secondary skills?
Thanks.

Camouflage(M/E)IQ[1]-12

(M/E) < This skill is an easy skill to learn.
IQ < This skill is related to IQ stat
IQ -4 < Is the level ALL charactors have with out spending any points

So if my charactor had an IQ of 10
Hes default Camouflage skill is ( 10 - 4 ) = 6

If I wanted to upgrade my skill I look at it on the EASY upgrade table
If I was to spend 1 point on camouflage my skill would be

Camouflage IQ+0
So if my charactor had an IQ of 10
Spent 1 point Camouflage skill is ( 10 - 0 ) = 10

If I wanted my Camouflage skill to be say 15 then I would have to spent
0 point = (-4) lvl 6
1 point = (+0) lvl 10
2 point = (+1) lvl 11
4 point = (+2) lvl 12
8 point = (+3) lvl 13
16 point = (+5) lvl 15

From your charactor sheet
Combat engineer (IQ+2)

Since your IQ is 11 your engineer skill is 11+2 = 13
That means performing Engineer will succeed on 3d6 if you roll under 13
Of course this is without modifiers.

Say you are under strict time limit to defuse a land mine then you might have a penalty of -4 to succeed.

Thanks! That helps a lot, but on the first example (the one I gave you) I don't see where the [1] or the -12 went.

noncom what are the stats for weapons in the gurps ww2 book ?
cause they are seriously lethal in Gurps lite 4th ed.

BTW: yout HT stat = stamina and HP
(which is 11, a single pistol round can do 2d+2 damage)

Camouflage(M/E)IQ[1]-12

IQ[1]-12

Since your IQ is 11 sending one point [1] should give you a skill of 11
(Lozzy added it up wrong ? cause for a lvl 12 skill requires 2 skill points)

I want some cookies!!
I mean, if she has any....

Just for you FF, the Lee Enfield does 6d+2 (well what do you know, that's what I guesstimated before noncon supplied the official stats :D ).

@noncon

The Lite rules you've got are 3rd edition, the current GURPS is 4th, so those skills costs are wrong, and there are a few other alterations.

Mr.Rats, I advise that you see to Jack!

And the Sarge recovered from his fall ;).

The man looks distraught at Widowmaker's violent demands (especially because he now has a hefty knife in his face! :p).

He finally leads you upstairs and into a small bedroom.

On the bed is lying what appears to be a wounded soldier...

A British soldier! And next to him is another man, in his 30's.

As you approach the healthy man looks up at you, his expression gaunt, and aks what you are doing here.

Further examining the wounded man, you see his skin is extremely pale, but you cannot tell how he was wounded...
