Hacking

Rumour has it that when you PAY for the software you gain unlimited access to it's use. ;)

LOL!!! Oh so true!

You know...I write software.

So far all has been Freeware, but I'm working on a business application that I intend to charge for....and will make an evaluation version. I'm going to add some advanced hack protection.....I won't go into it...but involves several levels of disception so that beginner hackers will take these easy routes....be warned each time they fail....and third time?? Win.com disappears and windows no longer loads. ;)

Well that's what I want to do....but TF says there could be legal issues by crippling peoples Windows ;), So I'll just delete all the program records instead. :)

While it seems fitting to do that to someone's computer, I agree with Tf that, legally, you would be opening up a whole can of worms. Now if in the agreement you state that this can happen.... ;)

I like RedWolf's answer.

monkeyman116, I would suggest going to a different forum for answers to this. try www.hackers.com . They probably won't help you either, but maybe you will learn how to program and not have to resort to using other people's programs as much? :)

You could change the date on the computer. But, some programs keep track of what days you ran it on, or the number of times you ran the program.

Most hackers probably have a pirated version of Windows anyway... So they can't very well sue you for crippling an illegal version of their softwhere can they?

It would be like a drug dealer charging a customer with theft because he/she snatched the crack out of the dealer's hand and then ran like hell. LOL

Usually get a snazzy colourful manual with it and a box too.

Looks like these hackers must be charity-cases they don't seem to be ale to afford anything...;)

Not at all! Not anymore. Look at the new games (at least the ones sold in France). Most of them are sold in a small DVD case. No box, no manual. The shame is that they're sold at the same price, not at a lower one. I'll take an example: men of honour, which is quite recent... well it's sold at €50 (yes I know, games are horribly expensive in France) without anything else... No comment. Mmm, did you say swindler?

Also most of the time you want to read the manual while you are playing the game. You do not want to have to shut the game down just to read the manual

If you want my advice, not that you do or anything, I would just buy the software if you like it that much. You can have a clear conscience and get updates and stuff as they come. Not to mention the people who programmed it will be grateful for your payment.

P.S. Did you get my e-mail from a long time ago Corn?

a ;) usually helps in that department. :D
