Handy 18 AWD small - Celts

I'll start playing in a couple of hours. I don't think americans are a big problem, we have a railroad and can pull the armies back if we need them. 4-unit cav armies+cannons can handle infantry quite well. Agree to settling the land under the choke ASAP. And what do we want to research next? Communism or maybe Industrialisation for factories?

I vote for Commie very quickly.
I will need a skip/swap till this weekend. I defend my thesis on Thursday, and I need to work on it some more. (Like make my presentation!!)

I vote for communism and immediate revolt, we are religious, no issue then. After that we should be cruising home. Make sure we get border expansions and get 66% quickly.

Consider parking a bunch of cannon @ the choke an fully settle south of there. It looks like a leader fishing kill zone. After we fully settle south of the choke we can begin to settle north of there. Armies should go on to the north once you have cannon & cav to defend the choke.

While we are leader fishing at the choke we need to continue to raze and pillage the north and make sure the AI remains Oil Free. Once we hit Infantry artillery will be required. Even 4-cav armies can struggle versus a lone infantryman on a hill in a size 7 city without big gun support.

If we have a couple of spare boats they can shuttle the slave workers from razed cities in the north down to the former Portugal.

Me too.

Communism is good.

Commie is good. Perhaps a Sir Pleb gauntlet. Or how about that great gauntlet that was set up in Bede4?

Washington is cut from the trade network
:goodjob: hope that will trash their rep, not that it is vital, but nevertheless very good. By the way, I see another choke point near the dyes...

Roster

Greebley - depending on Matt, might be up
Handy
Bugs
Rat -
Bede
Comrade Obormot - just played
Romeo - busy with Thesis, swapped for now until weekend
Matt - able to take it or still work related stress?

I should be able to squeeze this one in. I'm still working 12 hour days but this one isn't as time consuming as GR7. I may run a day over though.
If running over the time limit isn't a problem, consider this a got it. :)

I will be away on the weekend (Friday to Sun). Would it make more sense to swap? Matt if you have more time on the weekend and want to swap, then we could do that. If your weekend is also busy then I will simply swap with Handy.

Alternatively, I could give you until Sunday to play the turns and just play when I get back.

A swap sounds good to me Greebley. Let's go that route. :)

I think five fortresses, two on the hills south of the dyes, then three more in the mountains behind all equipped with artillery, and a couple of armies and a horde of cavalry, or even infantry with a nice rail network, and we would have a slaughterhouse in the open grass between the two.

Preturn: MInor tweaks - For example, the FP city needs a courthouse.

1160 AD: Few things to attack. Advance some Armies Let injured ones heal

1170 AD: The American SODs are spotted. I place armies to damage some of them

1180 AD: Several attacks. Destroy a new Babylon town and capture a Settler. Lose two Cav though.

Find four fortified workers. I wonder how long they have been there? Could be centuries.

1190 AD: Take out London. We get Sun Tzu.

1200 AD: Everything charges London. Looks like I won't keep it. Move out the Armies. AI gets it again. We should discuss if we want to raze Sun Tzu or not.

1210 AD: Take out a random new Babylonian town.

IBT: The first landing of my turn is a big one - 8 Infantry, Rifle, 2 Guerilla, and a crusader.

1220 AD: With a force like that I play defensive. Something they are unlikely to cut through, but that still looks attackable.

IBT: Some units attack. The rest move off toward the capitol

1230 AD: Use the armies to take care of the top Infantry. Attack with some cav and MDI (the Injured Infantry then a Rifleman).

1240 AD: Kill the final units of the landing.

1250 AD: There are a lot of American Infantry. We may want to block again. I am not sure. I do know that we do better on defense than offense. We may not have enough defense though to hold off an attack.

Notes:
We still have a task ahead of us. There are a lot of infantry. I will post a picture.
We are heading Electricity->Rep Parts. We need artillery a lot.
I have been mining irrigated lands almost as much as I have been building RR's. We are ill-suited for communism - only our core had mines. This is almost always true and one reason I only think Communism is worthwhile in games that will still last a while.
We are currently building factories so are short of units. Especially offense on our home island.
On the other hand there is a very good chance this is my last turn. Within 30 turns we should be romping gleefully through the wreckage of American cities I am guessing. We will see.
Beware - the armies on our home island are not cavalry armies. They are Gallic swords with a Cavalry added.

[Edit: Check the MM and unit locations. I am tired and may have missed something. I am not 100% sure I scanned for landings.
Also check the preferences. Battles were turned off and I left them off (and turned music on).

For strategy, new georgovia is on a hill. If you want the AI to attack, we can place an army NE and SW of the town so that town is the only one they can get to.

If we don't want them to attack, you should just have enough time to get back and block off the 3 squares that block off our empire entirely.

There are 3 armies deeper in enemy territory that can do damage.
2 on the mainland, and the 3 potential blockers for 8 total.

No leader either. I am having an under average leader run - that is for sure. Several turns with a number of elite victories with no leader.

I think we will want to keep London. Maybe wait for Rep Parts and infantry so we can keep in for good. That will make the final push much easier.

Keeping Sun Tzu sounds nice. And i don't think we should raze any more english and babylonian cities - they are already crippled and we can capture them quickly after we deal with american SOD. Those 60 infantries are the only problem left. I think it's better to let them attack our city, but i don't really know how many rifles we'll need to defend it. A rifle army would be good :)
