Happiness Changes at Load of Game

Hello,

I am playing a marathon game as Nebuchadnezzar on immortal. I played yesterday "in one sitting" (i.e. without shutting the game off) until turn 713. At the time I saved the game, I had just conquered a large enemy city which put my happiness in and around -10.

I went to load the game today and I now have -42 happiness. I apologize if this issue has been posted before but I searched the forum for about 30 minutes with no results so I decided it was time to try asking.

127 Happiness from All Sources
36 from luxuries
5 from policies
73 from buildings
4 from natural wonders
9 from difficulty

169 Unhappiness from all sources
36 from # of cities
56.5 from population
66.5 from population in puppet cities
10.5 from specialists


Now, for policies I am running:

Tradition, full tree (+1 happiness per 10 citizens in one city, -1 unhappiness for every 2 citizens in the capital)

Rationalism (+1 happiness per university, public school)

I can't find any bonus that is no longer working (though it's difficult to tell if the bonus from Monarchy is working).

Any help would be greatly appreciated and again I apologize if I missed a thread on this subject already.

Have all your cities mysteriously grown to the maximum population that can be supported by the food they're producing?

Did you start the game before you installed the patch?

Hello all,

Thank you for your responses. It is possible that a patch is the culprit, but it was only about 12 hours between sittings to play the game and I don't recall a patch released in between--would have had to have been August 14th I guess.

Here is a copy of the save--I loaded it up again today and am still at a loss for what exactly happened.

I believe this bug is related to the courthouse bug. The courthouse currently removed the unhappiness from the city itself (not just the extra unhappiness from the city being occupied). I believe this bug is being corrected when you load a game causing your unhappiness to increase. Do you have a lot of annexed cities with courthouses?
