If you want this mod to just affect the AI, it is not hard to remove the rest of the features. Go into the .modinfo and delete all the xml references to anything that doesnt start with AICleanup_

Then delete the xml files in the modfolder. The OP didn't merge any of the mods together into one file, he just packaged it all into one mod.

Although I agree, the mod should be renamed if it's more than just harder AI.

If you're going to do that, might as well just d/l Delnar's AI Cleanup - it's virtually identical.
 
I think the mod has some kind of error. I activated this mod and started a new game, it crashes all the time between turn 107 and 108. I have attached the game's file to this message if someone or the author wants to upload the game and verify why it's crashing at that turns. I'm also using the following mods in that game besides Harder AI: 8 Ages of Pace, Detailed Worlds (it's activated but I didn't choose a map from that mod for the game).

They are not identical. If you compare the two there are some differences. I couldn't tell you the exact differences because I didn't make the mod but if you wanted to check download notepad++ and the compare plugin.
I said "virtually" identical. And yes, I had already compared the files days ago. I counted less than six changes across all dozen of Delnar's files, which in my eyes would have had a negligible impact on the AI.

You miss the point, the mod is called "Harder AI", where does the Tech Tree fit in with making the AI harder? It should be renamed as it is giving false impressions.
 
Do I need AI+ also?
No you do not this an all inclusive package AI+ no longer part of the package really only two sections of code are from it I scraped the rest. Delnars AI clean up still main hull of the mod but with changes to make it work with new patch.

I would really like to play your mod, but my game crashes when i start a game with it, and Hajee's No Beeling mod activated (http://bit.ly/2frr2kn). I assume it is because you have used mad djins techtree in your mod and the two different tech trees conflict?
Is the changed tech tree integrated in to your mod, or is it possible comment it out or something? :) Any help would be very nice.
No tech tree mods can run along my mod due to tech tree changes which is why AI fails current tech tree confusing them. So best way is to fix tech tree. Wait for new version it will fix AI research issues but changes it so all techs must be researched for next era. Vastly changed tech tree and civic it's another mod being interested instead of mad jynx changes don't work properly with new patch.
 
Tech tree unfortunately must be changed sorry but AI do broken and little modding support makes it impossible and what's wrong with tech tree changes what's so good about current one. I think ppl will enjoy a new tree that lets AI and players take advantage of. The new version will contain whole new tech tree I feel it's Best solution to the problem with AI research and player's having vast amount of decisions in how your empire runs. Also to those who are critical of said mod well sorry I'm using it as testing grounds for an overhaul mod based on my civ 5 Mod that made eras feel more epic and did not extend games at all standard game still was 500 turns but AI would destroy good players by turn 300 on prince with little bonuses I'm trying to emulate same thing again so you other here to help make civ 6 hard as hell for even the best players or not. This mod is not for casuals or promising anything is AI harder and how is the balancing. I'm just trying to patch the game to make it playable cuz Im stomping deity and I had trouble on king before always.
 
You can go into the .modinfo file and look for these 2 lines (they're in 2 spots) and comment out/delete them...

<File>Civics.xml</File>
<File>Techs.xml</File>

That was a quick look through the files, but I didn't see anything that jumped out as being tied to civics and/or techs on the AI stuff.

I have a love hate with the tech tree changes.

I love that it fixes the AI and prevents them from beelining into Modern Era while still escorting Settlers with Spearmen.

I hate that the tech tree is so broken it has to be changed.


1 suggestion you should change is that education is the last tech needed to move to the classical era becuase it makes The Great Library perk some what useles since you need to have research all Ancient tech to unlock it and provides a eureka to all ancient and classical Tech. You should move education up to right after pottery and and move something else back in its place.
 
so this just changes the tech tree to stop the ai from beelining but how does that make it harder?

I deleted the
<File>Civics.xml</File>
<File>Techs.xml</File>
in the mod.info file and it seems to work just fine with my tech and civics tree mods :)
 
Okay yeah i'm posting version with out the tech tree changes coming out with new beta test overhaul mod called rise of mankind will feature longer more epic era's and each era will feel like its own game again like my rise to power mod for civ 5. but is only just under way i have many things to figure out and many things will have to wait for official modding.
 
Well yeah its no tech tree additions just AI improvements making them settle for resources and making them actually try for culture science and religious wins again. Instead of just pumping units.
 
A mod called "Harder AI", that changes non AI stuff. No sense there what so ever. :nono:

Read the description then. If you don't like it, then don't use it. A modder taking their time and energy to help the community doesn't need snarky comments about the name of the mod. -helpful constructive comments are great, trolling not so much

And if fixing the tech tree improves the AI performance, then there is also a lack of basis and logic in the comment

Hi, i´m new in civ. I tried to play with your mod, but game doesnt start if using your mod. I don´t know if i installed it properly...

After unzipping and copying your mod (all the mod folder) into mod folder of the game I started the game chose your mod in menu and tried to create a game. Then the game started to load new game, but it came back to the main menu while there was added a new music stream from the loading screen. Simply two music streams plays over themselves... When i repeated to cretae another game. The same thing happened. Returned to the main menu and another music stream added - third, fourth etc... depends how many tries of creating new game i did. Hope u understand...

How can i fix it? Game is already patched with Fall patch. No other mod was choosen.
