Have Firaxis commented on AI?

From the patch notes:
[AI]

  • Added some bias towards getting governments with lots of wild card slots.
  • Fixed an issue where the AI was overvaluing bonuses from governments for cities with governors.
  • Increased desire for civics that unlock new governments. Capped desire for Theology for high Faith income civs (ensures they can move on to tier 3 or 4 governments).
  • Various AI improvements.

Yes, there is a new community game mode since the last view patches, which is to discover the "Various AI improvements".

You can follow it here:

Has been actually improved quite nicely in thr last few patches especially.

Ai uses air attacks, builds warships on coastal cities under attack, gains more science etc.

Of course on higher level it has more bonuses but so it is with every single strategy game: EU4, Total War etc.

In the August patch there are no changes to the gameplay data in regards to the AI. It means that whatever improvements were implemented - all were done in the DLL and we can only observe the effects in-game.

the "bias towards getting governments" and "desire for civics" are both hardcoded ?

or was that done in the previous patch (and forgotten in the previous notes) ?

or planned for the next (and put by mistake in the current patch notes) ?
