Have you ever played F-19 by Microprose?

The excellent game F-19 was what really got me into airplanes, it was such a great game.

So what is your favorite theater to play in? I always loved the Kola Peninsula one, but the Persian Gulf was good, too.

Being Norwegian, of course I loved the opportunity to fly missions in my own back yard, as it were.

(I played this thing on the trusty old Commodore 64, back in the day. Best computer ever!)

I loved the Kola Penisula scenarios. But I have to admit I always had a heck of a time with the sub pen one.

Germany had most demanding radar to deal with. Although the Iranian Rapier system could cause a few problems too... nontheless, I went for Germany.

It was very easy to shoot down enemy aeroplanes, I do remember that.

No, the rest of the cast is real. You'll encounter the whole series of MiGs, Sukhois, the IL-76 Mainstay, and when in the Persian Gulf, you can fight Iranian and Iraqi F-14s, F-4s, F-5s, and I think there are some civilian airliners that like to hang out around Malta and Qatar IIRC.
There are serveral ships, too, like the Kennedy; that's the only one I remember, having not played the game in years, but there are other ships, too. Allied planes include the F-18 and F-14.

I always enjoyed the European theater. But I did hate that the missiles could fly through the mountains.

I remember that in the Persian Gulf scenario you could shotdown more planes than in others, it was plenty of action. But maybe I´m confused with F-15 II Strike Eagle.

There was definitely a lot of planes in the Gulf, civilian, allied, and enemy. I don't really know why I like the North Cape, but I do.

I found the Kola missions too long and target-poor. I preferred the Gulf, and Germany was fun too.

TO be honest my original favorite mission was to hit the SAM site in Tripoli, and a Depot in Benghazi, and land on the America. Gulf of Sidra was fun, cause you could shoot down Boeings over Malta.
