Lord Regent Rules in Favour of House Isaakios, Truce Broken at Feast, Invasion Resumes Aonia, House Dandale
While Lord Regent Lucius called a truce to decide whether House Isaakios’ claims of Dandale sabotage was true, House Dandale used to time to raise two twenty regiment strong armies of lightly armoured infantry and skirmishers to garrison its remaining provinces. House Isaakios meanwhile had held back from further combat, holding a celebratory feast while waiting for House de Toullies judgement. During the feast a small band of party goers drew arms and attacked Lord Alexandros and his guards. After a short melee, though Lord Alexandros was lightly wounded, the attackers were subdued, and revealed to be Dandale assassins. They confessed to plotting to kill Lord Alexandros in preparation of a counter attack on Veniera. Outraged, Lord Alexandros ordered for the offensive operations to resume.

As the Isaakios armies rallied, the verdict came from Toullies: House Dandale was deemed guilty of sabotage and supporting insurrection. The Heavenly Legion, ranks further filled out with fresh regiments of heavy infantry and cavalry, descended into Aonia. The much larger Dandale force dealt its due to the invaders, but the lightly armed infantry and skirmishers and weak fortifications were ground down by the seasoned Isaakios troops, and soon the province was brought under House Isaakios banners.

House Taran and House of Koriates Invade House Wychland Stillharbour, House Wychland
Houses Taran and Koriate launched a three pronged attack on Wychland lands, hoping to seize all three provinces in one quick and bloody swoop. The House of Koriates was able to seize both its targets, Wychwood and Myriam Peak, with minimal issue, only finding slight resistance from partisans in Myriam Peak, as the main Wychlander army was tied down in Stillharbour. The Taran Riders were tasked with taking Stillharbour, but met with stiff resistance from the Wychlanders. The Riders managed to slay a great number of the defenders, but their own losses began to pile up. As more bodies fell, the odd fog that hugged Stillharbour grew heavier and darker, until warriors on both side could barely even see the tips of their own spears. The Riders were eventually forced to retreat, their losses too heavy, retreating out of the choking fog to The Bloodrock Plains.

Peasants Return to the Fields Veniera, House Isaakios
As the occupation of Veniera shifts from oppressive to the norm, farmhands have returned from hiding to their fields. Many have already repaired damages done by pillaging Isaakios troops, and the newly installed Isaakios minor nobles are ready to tally the increased produce.

Farmers Expand Fields for the War Effort Koriates, House of Koriates
Fields have been expanded in around the capital, paid for almost entirely out of the farmers own pockets. They say their efforts are a show of solidarity with the soldiers marching into the Wychlands. If they can’t wield swords for the House, they can at least feed the hands that do hold the blades.

Wcyhland Armies Dashed and Dazed Myriam Peak, House Wychland
Wychland troops have taken heavy losses, and their officer corps significantly thinned. The troops as a result have taken a great morale and organisational hit. This comes at the worst time, with more bloodshed no doubt coming in the Spring.

Severe Lack of Craftsmen Davensport, House Lamere
The capital has found itself with a huge lack of craftsmen. With few construction projects in the province, builders have either changed occupations or moved to brighter pastures in other territories. It will cost extra to scrape together the workers until more move back to the capital.

Pretender Claims Rightful Place as Heir to House Polud Noveria, House Polud
A man has approached the court of House Polud, claiming to be the Lord Muncel’s rightful heir, ahead of Lord Milo in succession rights. The man claims he is the Ruler’s true son. Rumours have spread rapidly through Polud lands, wondering if the boy is truly who he claims to be, a bastard, or just a lunatic. In any event, the claimant has a sizeable retinue of hardened soldiers, and is popular in the Polud ranks. The man has evidently served as a soldier for most of his life, though most troops are much more loyal to Lord Muncel. Accepting the boy’s claims will no doubt cause a significant stir among the nobility, and of course Lord Milo, while denying the claimant will also cause him to hold a grudge.

House Mephs Invades, Pushes Braxton Troops out of Castle Braxton Castle Braxton, House Braxton
The House of Mephisels undertook a huge push into Braxton lands, fielding over three thousand troops in two large armies. The newly minted 2nd Army moved unopposed into Pavile, while the 1st Army of Gealot sailed across Summer Bay to land on the shores of the Braxton Capital. Braxton heavy soldiers manned the imposing fortifications of Castle Braxton, their armour and discipline outpacing the light infantry favoured by Mephs, though the invaders far outnumbered their opposition. As Lord William Braxton prepared his troops for battle, he found that hundreds were incapacitated, suffering from extreme dysentery. He gathered every man not spilling himself out of every orifice and held against the attacking hordes. Men fell in the hundreds below the battlements, and as the mass of infantry push through the fortifications, dark tendrils of fog filtered out from between the corpses. It rose with the attackers as they scaled the walls, and by the time the castle fell it was as if night had rose from the ground itself to engulf the battlefield. The surviving Braxton army was forced to retreat to Erlingsworth, and the blackness followed with them, shrouding the countryside in inky fog. Meph troops stationed in Castle Braxton have reported breathing issues, and many wounded who were expected to survive have succumb to a sickness of the lung, as if they dark clouds had strangled them from inside.

Rival Minor Thurian Nobles Brought to Heel Mid-Thuria, House Taran
The Houses of Taran and Thustra had finally had enough of their vassal lords taking rash actions, and have harshly reprimanded them. House Thustra has stripped Lord Messemen in Hithershore of all his lands and titles, and now he stands on trial. Across the border, House Taran has forced Baron Razin Nakhal to repay all damages done to the Thustran farmstead, as well as stripped his lands closest to the border. The other vassals in both Houses have taken note of how the may be able to push things in the future, as well as how harshly they will be dealt with.

The South

Southern Bloc Crumbles as House Faulhamer Supports House de Toullies Ironhold, House Faulhamer
The southern bloc that had been growing around Hous Iskariota has been struck a hearty blow, as House Faulhamer withdraws its support in favour of House de Toullies. The reputation of both Houses has been shaken, with many questioning the loyalty of House Faulhamer, while others worry over the quiet of late House Iskariota’s ability to remain relevant while the Grand Alliance seems to only grow stronger. It also remains to be seen if the wedding between the two Houses will hold, or if the tensions in the South, once the most promising and stable region, will continue to worsen.

Notes
- Sonereal, Robert Can’t, and Joahanna have been dropped due to inactivity. Houses Iskariota, Arimathea and Thustra are now NPCs and open for players.
- SouthernKing, DoubleA, Zappericus and Shirogane will be dropped if they do not send orders next turn.
- To support a spy action, you must pay the base cost at least once, then your bonuses will be added to the other supporters. Also, for spy actions each EP does not equal a +1 to the roll. You must pay the base cost (the defender’s LG/10) for each +1. Please refer to the rules for more details. I did not state this clearly in the rules, so it was not required this turn.
- Rules slightly changed. Added cost to forming new armies, and clarified espionage rules. See rules pdf for more.

As always, check for the inevitable errors then let me know so I can fix them. Let's set orders for Tuesday, July 12th. Check my sig for countdown.

HOUSE MEPHS

The Braxton threat falters against our might. Soon we shall apprehend dear Balon who chose to escape and send him to House de Toullies for his trial. Support will be most welcome.

I also wish to declare the house Braxton lands are under my protection until further notice. We shall rebuild the lands abandoned by dear Balon. He chose to build armies, we shall build houses and farmlands!

Onward to victory!

ooc: Finally my IC is getting to be on par with the rest, only had to double my lands... I am not going to quickly give that up :p

to dear Balon of House Braxton:
Surrender? Yes? Now?

Decamper I am missing one of my armies D:

But truly an excellent update :)

OOC: Excellent update.

IC:

Lord Alexandros was riding forth on his white horse, leading the Heavenly Legion. Although he had managed to achieve another victory against the numerically superior Dandale forces, the Dandale were still able to field a far larger army than his and they would surely recruit even more forces. Lord Alexandros had said to his troops that "an army of righteousness which battles for justice will always emerge victorious". His victories against superior Dandale armies proved this but Lord Alexandros was still anxious.

"My Lord, we are sure to defeat the Dandale.", one of the officers, Alexis, riding on his black horse, said. "We have defeated them once, we shall defeat them again. We are an army of righteousness. We do not use spies nor assassins as the cowardly Dandale do. Even an army of a million men will not scare us! We are willing to march through hell for you!"

Lord Alexandros laughed. "Good!", he said. "Very good. I like your spirit! Remember, we are marching against Dandale not only as defenders of justice but also as keepers of peace. We need to crush this evil regime in order to ensure that there is peace in the lands. The Dandale, with their vicious actions, have brought war in the lands and have caused much death. The villagers suffer and only if we defeat Dandale and restore peace shall the villagers be able to live a normal life again."

"Indeed. I admire your righteousness and care for the people. I am proud to follow a Lord like you."

"I am just doing my duty to the people and to Regent Lucien. Bringing peace and eradicating troublemakers is something that all righteous Lords should do."

Some issues fixed. If you still see things in the stats/map, do tell.

Declaration from House of Koriates

House of Koriates declares that the two provinces of Wychwood and Myriam Peak is heretofore to be Koriates territory permanently as the House of Wychland have proven themselves to be dishonorable, unjust lords of their charge.

Illegal poaching in the province of Wychwood is to cease immediately following this announcement. The penalty for those caught disobeying this edict is death.

The people of Myriam's Peak and Wychwood must now consider themselves to be at a state of war against the House of Wychland. Any peasant caught harboring those affiliated with the House of Wychland will be penalized as a heretic against God's Will in heaven. This state of war will continue until House of Wychland and Braxton is utterly destroyed.

Lord Alexandros was in his tent. He was sipping a cup of tea and talking with Minister Yiannis.

"Our treasury is full with gold and coins, my Lord. We have increased our wealth greatly since the campaign began."

But Lord Alexandros was sighing, not smiling. "But at what cost, my friend? The people suffer due to this war. Alas, I wish this war had never happened. Too bad the Dandale forced my hand. But at least, with the punishment of the evil regime, peace can be restored in the land."

"You also have one of the best trained armies in the Kingdom. You have the most veteran soldiers. Also I noticed that th-"

At that time a soldier rushed into the tent. "A woman wants to see you, my Lord."

"What woman?", Lord Alexandros wondered. "Who is she?"

"She claims to be sorceress."

"She must be a crazy woman.", Minister Yiannis said. "I say that you ignore her."

"No.", Lord Alexandros replied. "Bring her in. Minister Yiannis, please leave us alone."

When the woman walked inside the tent, Lord Alexandros was dazzled by her beauty. Her long black hair was shining, her lips were redder than the fire, her skin was almost as white as snow, her face was so beautiful that it dazzled anyone who looked at her, her cheeks emanated the rosy glow that the sunset clouds reflect, her eyes shone like the clear and piercing light of the moon.

"You are...."

"My name is Anastasia. I have been wandering the lands in search of a sage Lord."

Lord Alexandros laughed. "If you are looking for a sage Lord, you must go see Regent Lucien. I am just a minor Lord."

"You are a phoenix in hiding, a crouching tiger. A great destine lies before you. You will accomplish great deeds. But to do this you must be honorable and serve the Regent and the people well. Only if you are a loyal subject and a wise minister will you be able to achieve greatness. You have already shown yourself to be wise by following the right Lord. If you follow my advice you will show yourself to be a sage as well."

"I will of course follow your advice."

Anastasia smiled. "Good. I also ask you to allow me to help you in your quest."

Lord Alexandros bowed slightly before the woman. "I see that you are wise. Sorceress or not, you will be of great aid to me. I will of course accept your help. I need all the help I can get in order to bring peace in the Kingdom."

To: House Mephs
From: Lord-Commander Balon Braxton, of House Braxton

I do not know what sort of grotesque black magic you had to sell your soul for to better my forces, but know that I will never surrender against heretics like you! My lands were covered in darkness upon your arrival, you vile conjurer! I will see you purged before I leave this mortal coil!

HOUSE MEPHS
to dear lord Balon:

I was wondering if I should respond to you, seeing as it will all be soon over. I did not need black magic, I do not even believe magic is real beyond the power of our GOD. But I heard your castle and the one of Wychland, they did indeed were covered by some sort of fog. But I wasn't in Wychland, were I?

Your forces were bested by a more powerful force. Your pride was your downfall. The farmers defeated the warriors, and they always will. GOD was simply on our side, the righteous side, and aided us in defeating you. You can talk all you want of purging, but GOD made his choice, and you weren't it.

You reap what you sow. You sowed aggression and war, and you reaped defeat.

The Summer Pact Goes Public

We hereby declare that the alliance named Summer Pact will from now on be public for all to know. This alliance is meant to protect the southern houses as well as be a beacon of peace and neutrality in the kingdom of heaven. We do not declare any sort of power, influence or control over the kingdom as a whole or on other houses. Nor do we currently support any single person for king or leader of the entire kingdom.

Discussions of the alliance are held in the capitals of each member, changing constantly with the changing season. This season we are held in Vastra Harad of House Natt och Dag. The meetings are open to members only unless otherwise authorized by all members.

The members of the pact are the following:

The House of Isthon
Lord Byrias Isthon
The House of Iskariota
Lord Isxmael Iskariota
The House of Mephisels
Lord Aegron Mephisels
The House of Natt och Dag
Lady (Lord) Birgitta Månsdotter
The House of Thustra
Lord Zaran Thustra

The pact members swear to uphold the peace in the south and all of the kingdom, defend each other when under attack and support each other for the greatness of our kingdom.

May GOD bless our pact, our kingdom and make our fate long and prosperous. We wish peace upon all. You reap what you sow. Signed, Lord Aegron. Other signatures will soon follow.

I also wish to make obvious the personal alliance I hold with the Lord Lucius de Toullies, claimant of regency over the kingdom, by royal marriage and personal friendship. While I do not support his claim yet, I do respect what stability and peace he promises to bring to our kingdom, and I wish the grand alliance and House de Toullies great luck on their war against houses Wychland of the Witch and Dandale of the Stirrer.

Signed, Lord Zaran Thustra of House Thustra
Signed, Lord Isxmael Iskariota of House Iskariota

Signed, Lord Byrias Isthon

Do you really think this is a good idea? There have been more and more reports of strange, evil happenings. In my earnest opinion, we need to all band together behind a temporary leader everyone finds at least somewhat agreeable and wait for something divine to aid us. With a leader, we will have

If you are worried about Lord Lucien not fully subduing House Wychland, I will fully accept responsibility for its lack of demise. I was entirely preoccupied with the return of my long-lost son. I have yet to reach a decision on the matter - it is a small miracle I could take enough time away from my hectic court just to make this announcement. However, I solemnly swear Wychland will be defeated by my hand.

ooc: Roleplaying totally aside, you guys actually should pick nuke because I am absolutely confident BAD THINGS(tm) will happen in increasing frequency and dangerousness until we as a continent pick a leader and subdue the church

I also highly doubt Decamper will actually end the game if we do that

ooc: this has actually existed since before any other pact came public. the issue of coming into the light was being discussed when the other compacts appearing put a hold on things.

When I will see a person worthy to lead the kingdom, I will stand behind such a person. For now I do not think anyone has proven to be any sort of replacement to GOD, including myself. For now neutrality will be maintained as far as a leader to the kingdom is concerned, but the Summer Pact will work with the grand alliance and Lucius de Toullies for the betterment of the kingdom as a whole. Just because we don't see any human being as worthy to take the helm of the kingdom, doesn't mean we do not want to see it at its best, in all regards.

I was in fact in no way discussing the less than great war against Wychland. You guys are doing a great job for the kingdom, ridding it of who may just be a terrible dark witch.

OOC:
I dunno if we were first, but yes I have begun building this pact since turn 1 (was hoping for Robert Can't too, but hey, can't have everything) but the discussion on whether or not to go public was not fully clear, and then some players lagged and left, so it came a bit late. Still. The South is United!

I doubt the game will end any time soon, as long as we send orders and write here regularly, and OOC will not make any part of my decisions in game :p The magic stuff is actually interesting, I wonder where it will go from there!

For the last time, no one is replacing God. A regent does not replace. He holds things together, by the seems if necessary, until the rightful ruler returns. Do you want to sit in the damn mud and die of dysentery waiting around, or do you want to keep a semblance of order?
