Heirs to Heaven

If one stands above the others in rank - he is the replacement of GOD, by any other name you may mean it. Certainly he isn't GOD, no one could ever be, but even a regent need prove himself first in some sort of divine way. I will either await GOD's return, or see the coming of his one and only true heir. (Or die of course, as I am getting with the years, and the kingdom is not as stable as it used to be).

Also. We have a semblance of order. The grand alliance and the Summer Pact both are working very hard to rid the kingdom of imbalances and bring back true order.

Yes, you seem to be mistaken; the Summer Pact is in no way defying or calling into question the legitimacy of the Grand Alliance. Both organizations serve essentially the same purpose, as does hopefully any organization in the Kingdom, which this to say the preservation of peace, order, and tranquility.

OOC: So you want to end the game? I am well aware of the game part of this. I enjoy the RP thou so I see no reason why not extend the game using by RPing the diplomacy and characters the players made.

Also, if everyone support Nuke and he takes over the holy city, Nuke won the game. Now where's the fun in that ;) and I'm sure even Nuke agrees with my attitude here :p

ooc: decamper's clearly lying

he's gonna make us fight negagod

Lord Lucius de Toullies has shown to be a wise and capable ruler and I believe that it is in the interest of all the people that the he is recognized as Regent of the Kingdom. Even if the Summer Pact does not wish to recognize Lord Lucius as Regent, I honestly hope that they will not attempt any hostile actions or initiate a war, even a cold one. A conflict between the two coalitions will only make the people of Heaven suffer and cause destruction. Lord Aegron Mephisels has shown to be a peace-loving ruler and I hope that he will heed my advice and maintain peace in the Kingdom.

- Lord Alexandros

Again, many conclusions being jumped to by members of the Grand Alliance. The Summer Pact serves the exact same purpose as the Grand Alliance. The preservation of order until God returns or sends a divine representative.

With the one difference being that we do not think anyone has shown the divine spark of ruling over the kingdom yet, while the grand alliance exists on the idea my friend Lucius is that ruler. Also, our alliance was much older and so its existence is rather different. Once house Faulhamer was one of us as well, and as you can see, switching sides did not cause any wrong doing among us. Coexistence can be achieved, and if a true divine spark does show Lucius is the one, I will of course support him.

Why would you rather let the kingdom descend into anarchy waiting for salvation than have someone hold it together while we wait?

Somebody will, and somebody is, and that somebody is all of us. Despite a few mad leaders attempting to seize more power in these times, namely Houses Braxton, Wychland, and Dandale, it seems as though the sane Houses have unanimously been able to deal with the threats without much difficulty.
Why is it, on the other hand, that as a supporter of Lucien de Toullies you so fervently wish him into power? Despite the ascension of God, the Kingdom is as stable as ever, thanks to the actions of those supporting unity. While it is true the Grand Alliance is among those, so too is the Summer Pact, and my House is more actively involved in the politics said Pact deals with. The two organizations should, do, and can work together, and we see no need to worry the Grand Alliance with the workings of our humble nations. Why not have several like minded organizations? Alternatively, if the idea is that one organization is better suited to maintain order in the entirety of the Kingdom, then why not simply turn all power over to House de Toullies? Why maintain House sovereignty at all? More realistically, why not trust the Holy Church?
Because one man, one House, or one organization, has no realistic ability to maintain order over such a large area. Not unless He possesses divinity, and only God-- so far-- has shown Himself to do so.

So this should be obvious given my latest disappearance that I can't really be a part of this game yet. I'm not sure if I've been kicked yet, but I'm dropping officially. Really sorry, Decamper, since your game was fun, but I just fell off.

Anarchy? I'm not sure what happens in your lands my lord, but in my lands there is no anarchy, and in the lands of Braxton the anarchy is destroyed and replaced with peace and order. And farmlands.

No problem, feel free to grab any npc if you ever want to rejoin.

While I have the greatest respect for Lord Aegron Mephs and his actions, I must strongly disagree with this statement. A regent is not a replacement for God, nor do they need to be divine. God is not dead, He is surely alive. He is merely absent from this plane of existence. The question of where he is a matter for the Church, but that is beside the point. If I were to leave North Thuria for an extended period of time, crowning my son as the Lord of North Thuria would simply be absurd. He would serve as a regent until I returned and that is what the Grand Alliance is proposing. That we find a regent who will tend Heaven until God returns.

I also disagree with your statement that a regent needs to be divine. If my son was not of age, I would consider giving the regency to someone who was not in the line of succession. Lord Regent Lucius de Toullies is a great man and is fine regent, but he is not divine and it would be absurd to expect him to be. God has no heir and needs no heir, for he is eternal.

Regardless of our differences, I look forward to peaceful relations between the Grand Alliance and the Summer Pact and hope that we can peacefully overcome our few differences.

To the many servants of North Thuria, her soldiers and all those who rely upon her, worry not! Lord Regent Lucius de Toullies has promised to pay for the expenses that were supposedly going to be covered by our gold reserves. And as for the former Treasurer Proschet, I will offer a reward to any who bring him into our custody and a larger reward if he is brought back alive. I would give a proper sum, but we lack a treasurer at this time so the size of the reward will be discussed later.

To Enrique Dandale the Fool,

To agitate rebellion in an innocent Lord’s land was bad enough, but to attempt to kill your rival illegally so soon before a peaceful resolution was going to be reached? Your paranoia has brought your worst fears to life and ruin upon your house. You are as foolish as you are dishonourable. I have no choice but to annul our children’s marriage and to tear up our trade agreement. Know that you brought this entirely on yourself.

Yours sincerely,

Lady Nichola Taran of North Thuria.

In the interests of furthering our relationship with the other Grand Alliance houses, we would like to offer royal marriages to House Arimathea and House de Toullies. We would also like to offer trade deals to House Arimathea and House Isaakios.

From Lord Enrique Dandale, Last Ruler of House Dandale, As Appointed by God
To you Fallen Houses

I see now that God did not ascend from this plane, but it was we who fell from His Grace. Only in the pits of Hell could men so blindly allow and perpetrate evil in the name of righteousness.

We are the dead, so come, you heathens, and let us finally sleep.

--------

From House Arimathea
To House Taran

Agreed to both the marriage and trade agreement. We look forward to standing close beside House Taran when Heaven once again shines under His Grace.

House Taran is looking for a magic user who believes that they can remove the unnatural fog covering Stillhabor. All those who believe that they can do it will be transported to Stillhabor in the company of the military. If the fog is lifted, the successful magic user(s) will be given a reward.

From: House Isaakios
To: House Taran

We accept your offer to trade and we are most pleased to cooperate with an honorable House like yours.

Lord Alexandros was riding forth on his white horse. Anastasia, the sorceress he had met, had told him that she wanted to help him bring peace to the land. As such, while she herself could not assist him any further, she would lead him to a Sage living as a hermit in the woods. This was the third time Lord Alexandros visited the house of that hermit, named Psellos. The last two times Psellos refused to see him because he 'was writing poems and could not be disturbed' according to his servant. This time, Lord Alexandros hoped that Psellos would see him. Other Lords would have already given up or even ordered the arrest of Psellos but Lord Alexandros was willing to be humble and visit Psellos as many times as needed in order to persuade this Sage to join him.

When Lord Alexandros arrived to the house of Psellos, the servant met him and bowed slightly before him. "Lord Alexandros, my Master has completed the writing of his poems but he is now sleeping and cannot be disturbed. He is very tired due to the writing of those poems."

Lord Alexandros smiled. "It is alright. I will just wait here for him to wake up."

"Are you sure about it?", the servant wondered.

"Yes."

"Do you want me to bring you some tea?"

"No need for that."

Lord Alexandros waited for many hours. After seven hours of waiting, Lord Alexandros had fallen asleep on the ground in the house's yard. At that moment the servant woke him up.

"Lord Alexandros, Psellos is awaken and wants to see you."

Excited and smiling, Lord Alexandros rushed into the house. There, he saw a young man in his early thirties waiting for him. He had handsome and aristocratic features, long black hair, blue eyes and a pale complexion and was tall and sturdy. He was wearing a long blue gown and was holding a fan on his right hand. He bowed slightly before Lord Alexandros and said, "I am terribly sorry for all the trouble I have caused you."

Lord Alexandros laughed. "For persuading a Sage like you to join me, I am willing to visit you not just three but even a thousand times."

"I am most honored to meet you but I do not understand how I can be of any help to you."

"Anastasia told me to ask for your help in bringing peace to the land."

Psellos smiled. "I knew that it was her who led you here. Well, I am just a scholar and cannot be of much use to you. I do not have great skills. But you are a wise and just Lord and I shall help in any way I can."

Lord Alexandros bowed slightly before Psellos. "Thank you!"

Psellos, surprised by that move, immediately bowed before Lord Alexandros. "It is the subject who should bow before his Lord, not the other way around."

He then continued with the strategic analysis of the situation. "You have managed to defeat the Dandale army and secure their capital. They pose no more threat to you and you should not recruit more men in the army other than the ones needed to replace your loses. You do not need to recruit a huge army as I am sure some advisers will have told you to do. Instead, you should use all of your funds to increase the industrial and agricultural output of Isaakios. An army marches on its stomach and without a strong economy to support it, an army will collapse without the enemy needing to do anything about it. That is my first advice to you."

"Great!", Alexandros said. "You are truly a Sage. I shall appoint you Chancellor of the Isaakios House and make you second in command."

Orders due in less than 24 hours. As always, if orders are late any offensive military or espionage actions will not be processed.
