Help! A hate crime!

Still, I am still being searched by Scarborough police (;)) for breaking the nose of someone who wanted to force my to give a Nazi salute.....

now that you mention it, here in Mexico, during the assambles we make the salutation to the flag the way the nazis did
Once a friend of mine who came from France was horrorized why little 5-year-old children was forced to do such terrible things.

Im not nazi, and my avatar is just a little portrait of the lustwaffe fighters, but that salutation has over a century before the third reich existed.

I don't thinking hating Manchester United is groundless.

Oh. I thought he was referring to the French.

The salute was Roman so it has existed for over two thousands years. It is just another case of the Nazis ruining a perfectly good symbol, like the swaztika (spelling?).
Oh. I thought he was referring to the French.
That was my second choice.

Since when is the Swastika a perfectly good symbol?

That's not taught, that's percieved.

Now if they were that I wouldn't have denied military service. ;)

It is nothing of great consequence, and the post war history of Germany is bland, when compared to before. Also, World War 2 and its reasons for occuring are rather important historical topics when considering the course of the 20th century.
This only seems to reinforce the stereotype of Germans being uptight and lacking a sense of humour. ;)
A couple of attacks by British hooligan youths points more towards there being a problem with them, than with portrayals of Germans; those types would have attacked anyone on racial grounds, or even on grounds of being from a higher evolved species than them, humanity.:crazyeye:

The Swastika was and is a symbol of the Hindu religion, and I dare say they might regard it as a perfectly good symbol.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with teaching fascism in schools...I do it all the time.

The schooling per se isn't the reason, but it's the fact that 1931-45 seems to be the only period taught to any depth at school. As such, children are very aware of modern German history, are unaware of pretty well everything else, put two and two together and make five.

I was amazed that it was a Conservative government
that nationalised the curriculum.

Incidentally I (46 years old) learnt nothing about
1931-45 from my teachers when I was at school.

Hitro - Mad footballers excepting; we don't hate
Germans. The taboid press hate the French more.

EdwardKing: I know that young British boys actually would simply pick a fight for fun with anyone - but our school made experiences with exchange students that made it seem advisable for us to claim we were from Holland....... :(

Tell that to the ambassador.
And please do that with the exact same wording. ;)

I would, but I harbour no irrational fear of or bias towards the United States. :p
