Help me find books about tanks

Great Book of Tanks: The World's Most Important Tanks from World War I to the Present Day

If we are talking about big overviews, I will endorse the above.

I hate to sound like a douche, but your local library could possibly be a good place to start.

How has this turned out for you, Perf?

And what is that suspiciously tanklike object in your garden shed as detected by US military satellites denounced by your neighbours who went in complaining about the noise?

There's no harm in giving it a shot though, the worst thing that can happen is they don't have what he needs, in which case it hasn't actually cost him anything.
No the worst that can happen is that they have a thoroughly unhelpful book, in which case he's wasted time reading the book, and may not even realize he's gotten unhelpful information.

Hence why librarians (not the minimum wage workers working under them), which have a highly qualified job usually with a minimum of two masters degrees, one of which is in information science, can tell him immediately in what would take at the very most, 10 minutes.

I volunteer at two libraries as of right now and have been doing it all summer, and plan to become a real librarian. I'm not even saying libraries are 'the most wonderful thing ever' or some hogwash, I'm just saying he should give it a chance before not considering it.

Perfection likely seeks an expert in the subject on the forum. Given the obviousness of the "ask a librarian" option, I would assume that he has already considered and rejected it.

I'll open an ask a librarian thread, though, whenever I'm qualified to do so. ;)

edit: to ParkCungHee: Yes, some.

Are any of them in Military History?

Yeah this. How many of your garden variety librarians are going to actually be up-to-date on the historiography for your given time period and type of history?

Hell, how many of your garden variety historians are going to be up to date on it?
