Ok right now Im playing as the Sheim and that barbarian Orthus took one of my best cities. I cant really build any powerful offensive units at this time just regular warriors and I believe I just got Pyre zombies. How the hell do I . .. .. .. .. . slap that punk out of my city? I even threw a few catapults at him and NOTHING can touch him!!!! Someone please give me some advice here because I really need that city back in order to move forward....

You need stacks of Doom :) Just a big pile of your best troops. If you have bronce near your citys, that upgrates your units, with adapts you can summon Skeletons as storm units. Perhaps you can lure Ortus with a worker outside the city, and than take it back and defend against him. Catapults can´t destroy units, as far as I know. But they can wear them down, so your other units can do the final strike. And I hope that the Red Dragon doesn´t like your city too much. (That happend to me once... barbarians took my city and next round that dam Reptile was sitting in it.)

Ive tried to attack him with around 6 warriors and an assortment of other units to no avail..... Hell they can barely scratch him:mad:

You probably waited a bit too long to take out Orthus, so he's likely got Combat I-V and Shock I-II, for +100% strength and +80% against melee. That means that he's effectively a strength 15 unit (I think, somewhere around there) compared to your strength 3 or 4 warriors. Not gonna work.

Use catapults to bring the city defense to 0, and then to weaken Orthus as much as you can before using a few Shock or City Raider Pyre Zombies to take him out. Keep in mind that Catapults can only weaken, but also have 80% withdraw rate, so you won't lose too many of them. Promote them down the Drill line if you can, since neither Collateral or Bombard damage increases will help against a single strong unit (Orthus).

Horsemen might be useful too if you've got them, since they won't be taking the extra +80% vs melee.

Luring him out with a worker probably won't work, since the barbs will leave at least 1 or 2 units to defend the city, and more likely than not will send a warrior to grab your worker instead of Orthus. Using something strong enough to defend against a barb warrior might work though.

Oh, and whatever you do, don't attack piecemeal. Letting Orthus get even more XP will just make him tougher.

Ok I got my city back.... here is what I did. I sat a huge stack of death outside the city including several Morbius witches. Then I had my witch cast fireball turn after turn for quite a while. Last I sent in a Pyre Zombie who took out the weakened Orthus in its first attack:goodjob:

problem solved

The Dragon, except for my archmage and catapults and my arcane heroes, all the people are too afraid to even touch the red dragon, damn it!

Spirit mana is your friend. Spirit I grants Courage, which makes the unit fear-immune and grants higher heal rate. Quite useful to have, though spirit 2 and 3, not so much.

Holy $#!+ I'm so stupid! I have like 3 mages in the stack that can cast courage lol, thanks anyways!

Often the most difficult part about the dragon is doing it all on one turn; more often than not the AI will have a huge stack sitting outside the city too afraid to attack -- but they will get that dragon's hoard unless you take the city all in one turn! So in my most recent game, I used assassins to kill off all the lesser city units first -- then, used just two units to kill the dragon: Saverous and Hemah. Hemah knocked him with elementals until he was weak, and then Saverous (immune to fear, being a demon) killed him.
