Help on Sid Game

At the moment I am playing, but taking about 5 min per turn even though I only have to move workers. So, can you not build SS parts during mobilization? I don't need 2 ages, just to RP, then motorized transportation lator on when the AI has mechs (I'm hoping they will only have infantry when I get RP). I am getting techs as fast as I can, and I have decided to steal carefully from now on.

Are you playing this game or have you ditched the idea?

I am playing, but I chose a different aproach. The Dutch have just built the UN, and I'm stacking Cavalry and Cannon in front of Amsterdam. It's a gamble. But I ditched research of any kind. I still haven't researched Physics, and the AI has Mechs. :)

You can't build Apollo, I'm not sure about the parts. And you do need 2 ages to build the whole SS. I've won a Deity pangaea game where I was 1 age behing, so probably it should work for Sid too. Just I was alone on an island, so I could freely start some wars.

Woot! Spain and England signed an MA vs. Portugal! England has been at war with Portugal for something like 40 turns. They won't last much longer, and will sign peace, ruining their rep by breaking the alliance! The 2 most likely competitors for the UN have their rep's ruined, so they can build it without holding a vote, so I can capture it and do the alliance thing (just one of many possibilites). Also, Spain and Russia have an alliance, so with an AI dogpile on Portugal, I can continue to steal techs without risk of war. Plus, if they lose cities, stealing costs will go down. Only problem is that once they're gone, I'll have nobody to steal from.

I atomated my workers  => faster turns.

I won't give you any info, but can I post the winning screenshot? (if I win, that is).

Ok, here lies the all-important piece of info:
Spoiler Own :
The AI followed their habit and haven't abandoned all their cities or gifted them to me. In Slovenia, we have a saying: "habit - iron shirt". ;)
So, if you don't win with this info, you'll never win.

Oh, a crosspost again. If you have a feeling that Portugal is on her way to be killed, read Drakan's article.

Actually, as mentioned in this thread, it will hurt your rep if your trading stuff and they die. Besides, I can't trade any 20 turn stuff.

Gosh that spoiler thing is tempting to read. But I can control myself. You can post the winning screenshot if you want. It appears you had a typo. Did you mean "So, if you don't win with this info, you'll never win"?

That makes me nervous, that there is one important piece of info. (Don't answer this, I'm jusy saying) Will a decision that I think is a small one turn out to be a game-deciding one? I'm gonna be super-careful.

Well, decide for yourself. It's useful, and it would help you. Is your will stronger then the desire to win? :nono: :hmm:

And yes, I meant if. Sorry, I forgot the gpt thing. I've stopped playing now, I'll finish it tomorrow.

A lot depends on how far you want to stretch the game rules... I decided to try some highly questionable techniques (prolly banned in HoF and GoTM) and I was able to catch up to the AIs and reach tech parity in 5 turns.. (210AD)

I have a chance of winning, of course. Mybe I'll put this in my sig:
Sid (thx's to Own)... Soon to be .... What?

I don't want to know the exploits. But, please, when your game ends, read the spoiler.

Btw.. this is how it looked like in 210AD:

I got to say I read it and did not uderstand a word of it. So I will need a much more detail explaination of what I missed. It was very cryptic or colloquial.

Ok, I have good news and bad new.
Bad news- England signed peace with Portugal. England and The Dutch signed MPP. It will be harder to make one fight the other.
Good news- England signed peace with Portugal, ruining their rep cause they had alliance with Spain. They just redeclared war 2 turns later cause of MPP with the Dutch :D . I also carefully and succesfully stole astronomy from Portugal.

Gyathaar- I'm assuming that you're winning if you haven't already won my game.

Notes: Portugal is actually probably the most powerful civ. They have the most score, and they didn't get that from pop, cause the Dutch pop is much bigger. They must have more cities and more territory that we can't see. Plus, they've been holding off Spain, The Dutch, and England all at once. They also recently required another saltpeter, so they're doing well.
