There is a PBEM I’m playing where something wierd has came up – 2 techs have dissappeared!!!

In order to try to figure out what happened we need a (neutral) volunteer to go into the files and try to figure out what happened. Off course this person should have some basic PBEM experience, but not much experience is needed. Basically, we need someone willing to be Sherlock Holmes on the case of the ‘missing techs’.

My thoughts is that someone might have played based on the wrong file, but I’m opened minded enough to keep other alternatives open.

My initial proposal would be very simple - to go back a few plays and try to detect WHERE this strange event has occured. I’ll collect 3 or 4 files, but if the problem is BEFORE that... well, we’ll have to figure out what to do.

Thanks in antecipation for any help.

Hi Luthor, I'm happy to lend a hand, but I have only played 1 and a half PBEM's so far, so you guys would have to give me precise instructions what I'm looking for. I'm just a guy dressed as Sherlock Holme's, the pipe isn't even real. ;)

This is how it goes: we are playing this scenario called 'TGW', which is based on WWI.

The order of play is the following:
01. ITALY: Redman
02. AUSTRIA-HUNGARY: Drendor II
03. BRITISH EMPIRE: Luthor
04. GERMANY: Drendor
05. OTTOMAN EMPIRE: Loulong
06. RUSSIA: Eric A
07. FRENCH EMPIRE: Sully

In the turn we are playing, the French player said two of his techs went missing. My suspicion is of someone playing the wrong turn file by mistake and therefore going back to a period when he didn't have the techs.

What would you have to do?

1) Open the British file and see if the French techs are there. If they aren't we'll have to go further back. If they are there move to step 2.

2) Open the German file and see if the French techs are there. If they aren't then Germany has to replay. Otherwise go to the next step.

3) etc etc etc until you reach France.

One clarification: when you open the British file you'll have to 'play' the following turns of Germany, Ottoman and Russia to reach the French turn. THEN you can see if the French has the techs or not.
Of course you don't have really to play them, just opening the file and then ending the turn going to the next player.

What will I send you?
- Master password for you to open all the player turns.
- The files the players sent me.
- The names of the techs missing.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Is it clear? Can u help us out?

EDIT: I've just remembered something very important - this is a scenario so you'd have to have it installed in order to see the files otherwise it doesn't work...

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!! :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

OK thanks, I think I know what you are after.

Edit: OK. I've downloaded and installed the mod. I'll investigating today after work.
