Hermetic lore for FFH DI4 (not for use outside this game)

I'd love to take over, but only if the original founder of the idea doesn't mind. In any case, I will definitely use his advice for this quest.

As for the land rewards/punishments, it only makes sense. ;) Maybe also spawn some Earth Mana nodes, gems, gold, or other minerals... The possibilities are endless!

EDIT: I'm not an expert on lore (yet... When I get more time, I'll hit the Pedia. All I know right now is from the 60% of pages that I've read, and it's been a while. I do know quite a bit, though.) so if someone can help me with this question: As the Earth Mother, which of the Dwarves would I support?

Hm, since permanent alliances are in the game, what are the odds of me trying to unite the two nations?

Khazad...
and pretty good, I think. they were part of the same empire, once, long ago, before the age late age of Magic.

Sweet. More a mechanics question: Can 2 AI controlled nations make a permanent alliance, if I push them enough? Or will I need to get them to be Friendly, and once they initiate a Defensive Pact, form the Alliance myself?

(...)

I'm having trouble remembering HOW the twins came to be followers of Aeron, but they did at some point, and this was considered by Gabella the worst treason ever, and is possibly the reason she began to truly seek death. (...)

Neato, thats a much more in depth description of the history. Thanks Thomas! hmm but if it was definatly Esus that lost a devout follower and cursed the vampires why does the Sun God hate them? Oh well at least they are definatly worshipers of Aeron. the God of Hate has it easy with bestowing favours what with one of the promotions actually being called Aeron's Favour (or something similer)

To Babale: Two AI players will forge a permenant Alliance themselves... Well they used to a few patches ago. Had a horrible alliance of the bannor and Hippus in one of my old games that nearly forced me to tears when they decalred war on me.

But either way as a god you have full control. So as long as you craft a good story, nudge things along the right course then the two civs will be friendly. And as long as they don't somehow found seperate religions they could become allies naturally. If all else fails. You are a GOD. Edit the alliance in :p

Well, even gods have to follow the Laws of Drama. I'll wait a bit to forge the alliance, so that it's dramatic, and so that the player has an impact.

Do you guys think it would be OK for me to write a quest, even though I haven't been accepted yet, in order to show off my skills?

If Succellus is still available, I'll have a go with him. I'll likely focus on healing and providing medics, spawning beneficial animals etc. unless Gerran turns to unnatural things, such as death/entropy mana, lichdom, etc.

I think that would be fitting with the lore, although any ideas are certainly welcome. I'll also likely think up a few side-quests to tempt Gerran to worship the sphere of life, perhaps involving a free life mana node, resurrection promotion, etc.

I'll also reward A.I. civs which have life mana/seem to treat their people and environment well with small perks. These will of course grow greater if Gerran upsets the God of Life. :)

Until tomorrow, I won't be able to load the save. So for now: Which leaders do the 2 Dwarven nations have?

That's just my brain being dead right now. (in the middle of huge term paper, so not really thinking straight)

It is a disciple of Lugus (who is Esus' direct opposite)

Is Odio's prison already in the game? If not, or if the player hasn't found it yet, I will put it somewhere and write it into my plot. I have a rather epic one... But that is hundreds of years from now.

Pretty sure the game time spans Gerrans lifetime....so about 50 years. 1 turn= 1 month IIRC. Not certain that this is set in stone though.

Oh, well then... Twenty years from now. :P

My idea is to eventually have him accidentally free Odio (Angel or Demon unit with lots of upgrades) which will require a large number of units to destroy. But... We'll see.

Demon... Though I'm not sure Kilmorph will let you do so, seeing as she imprisoned him, first... ;)

I am Kilmorph ;).

I like RPing both sides sometimes, and if I write it so that his imprisonment has a loophole... He could escape, and then Verdian will get a quest from me to help defeat him again (I'm sure there are reasons why I can't do it myself... Time to go lore diving!)

Nope. None... ;)

The reason she was able to was because Odio had broken the compact, and so had his Ara removed (the divine protection given by a god to it's angels, preventing thier destruction and stoping anyother god from destroying the angel.) without the Ara, angels are still immensly powerful, but can be destroyed.

What if one of my enemies (Taris? nah, Marmoon?) restores his Ara? Or would the gods hesitate to go into conflict so directly?

Taris? Marmoon?

Do you mean Tali and mammon?

and no god can act so directly in creation anymore, at least since the signing of the compact. nor would they act, as they have no reason to... Odio is the Archangel of Camulos (IIRC) and so the other gods would in no way want to interfere with it...

and anyway, Tali is neutral and mischeivous...

and mammon does not seek the destruction of erebus (and anyway, his archangel, Hastur, is busy whispering in Danalin's ears and causing nightmares)

Dang, bad spelling. At least I got Kilmorph down...

OK, abandoning that plot line then. I'll focus on the "Unite the Dwarves" plot line, along with supporting hard workers.

don't feel like i'm limiting you in anyway... i'm just trying to keep the gods into thier Lore categories... (though, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a Good God fall, or an evil one rise again. :p )

If we didn't have so many evil gods, I would have loved to play a good one, and then have him fall. With our alignment spread, I guess it would be better for one to rise, though.

Hmm... Finnegan? That isn't one of the Grigori heroes. I'm wondering if he's renaming the adventurers.
