Historical NES II - The Dark Valley

To:President Roosevelt
From:Kemal Ataturk

We see it as an insult you didn't contact us as you did with every other nation [taken].We demand a formal excuse.

To:Chairman Stalin
From:Kemal Ataturk

I suggest we sign a NAP.To convince you in doing so Turkey will grant support in every action you might plan against Persia.

To:President DeGaulle
From:Kemal Ataturk

I propose to begin talks about a possible giving back of Lebanon and Syria to Turkey.

RULE CHANGE
Yet again. I forgot to mention that bombers can sink ships. In air-to-naval combat it is different in that after a successful bombing is made, one die will be rolled. If it is three or under it will sink a ship. If not, normal bombing effects happen.

Also, battleships will take TWO hits to sink due to their immense cost.

'I, Lettow von-Vorbec, red the "German Military Regime in early 30s", and got quite inspired". So my Germany is here again.

I also thereby procliam that in order to balance the situation, we should have full right to reubilt our army to size of the French one.

I mean that I demand the lift of arms limitation to keep up the balance.

To: President Roosevelt of the United States

Russia will agree and sign this pact with you, Thank you for your support

To: the World

Italy announces her undying support for the German demands of arms-limitation repealment. Blood alone is the fuel and necessary lubricant for the wheels of history, and the Germans as a righteous people deserve their military.

Germany is meant to force down the repressive, plutocratic regimes of the West and we call on any nation similar in this desire to aid them as well. End the capitalist-communist coalition to crush the nobility that is Fascism and war! We must unite in order to face these deadly foes and wrought the retribution that is demanded by the heirs of Rome!

Up to arms, brave Germans! We will fight your oppressors!

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: Prime Minister Winston Churchill

I come to you to cordially reassure you that Italy has no direct intentions against the will of Great Britain. As allies in the last war, and as friends in the modern world, we say that only should you find your allies among the ranks of the United States will we become enemies.

We wish you the best in your quest to reconstruct the British empire so torn after depression and war. May you find your comforts in your people.

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: President Charles de Gaulle

Italy henceforth demands the surrender of Tunisia by the French forces. Long habitualized by the members of the glorious Italian state, we recognize no other nation's "sovreignty" over this formerly-Roman territory. The decadent French have no place in this land and must allow the rightful heirs to the Roman empire their land.

Give us Tunisia or face the front of the mighty legions that are Italians.

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: Kemal Ataturk

As a fellow Mediterranean power we do not seek confrontation with the Turkish Republic. Only if your nations should "fall in line" with the will of the imperialistic Americans should you consider Italy an enemy; and that, my friend, is something no nation wants.

Blood does not need to be spilt in Turkey. I'd like to keep it that way. What about you?

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: Lettow von-Vorbec

We would like to assure you that so long as your nation does not make any attempts at Austria or find friends among the Americans, you will always find home just South of the Alps.

We look forward to cooperation with the German state and ask that a friendship pact be signed. As one warlike people to another, I say, the world is our apple.

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: Marshal Joseph Stalin

We are appalled by your barbaric people and form of government and will not see you well; Italy henceforth does not recognize the sovreignty of the Soviet Union and will therefore sign nothing with the corrupt "communist" government.

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

---

Italy today celebrated the development of a great Mediterranean fleet with the launching of two great battleships from the Vittorio Veneto class of ships. The ships, named Righello and Vittorio are expected to modernize naval warfare to a new height, and assure Italy's domination of the Mediterranean sea.

The major naval base, situated at Taranto, was recently industrialized by the great Duce, Roberto Berluciane. This was expected to open "a new era" for Southern Italy, modernizing it and removing the few agrarian aspects of the Italian economy.

The Italian military, now one of the finest in the world, may do battle very soon according to some high government officials such as King Vittorio Emmanuelle, who preached of "great retribution" against the nations that had so disgraced the rightful heirs to Rome in the past.

Il Duce Roberto Berluciane is scheduled for a press conference in April which will give the full details of Italian plans for the future.

Hey Toasty, why has the gold suddenly gone up?! I need to change my orders in that case!

Plus do we get the same amount per turn?

TO THE USA
FROM BRITAIN

We cannot directly engage in any war as of yet, as the British Empire is weak, and rebuilding it comes first. But I assure you, Britain will not stand by and let others destroy what we have all worked so hard for.

We will sign an embargo against Italy for now.

Churchill

To Kemal Ataurk
From De Gaulle

We will not return Syria and Lebanon to you. They are under our protection as Protectortes only for a, while before i give them their freedom.

To Il Duce Roberto Berluciane
From De Gaulle

How exactly do you own Tunisa? You don't even speak the Latin tonuge. Your claim is the same as if the Lebanese (who we rule) claimed the land as their own.

To Roosevelt
From De Gaulle

We will accept your alliance, but depeneding on where the injustice is we may not be able to attack with much force.,

To: Kemal Ataurk
I agree with you and I will sign this Pact, and I thank you for your support.

To: Il Duce Roberto Berluciane
Perhaps you are mistaken, but I have not offered or plannning to offer any signed agreement to your country. Your opposal of anything to do with us will be noted though...

TO point out from Germany. "Capitalists" are not ouur enemies. We are a democracy just like France and Great Britain. Our only true enemy as of now is Soviet Union because of it's anarchistic "Communist" "government".

OOC: Lettow was always opposed to communism.

To:Il Duce Roberto Berluciane
From:Kemal Atatürk

I agree we are both mediterranean nations and should not engage in war.But I think you should not turn on the French but on the British. The French republic was able to keep back the Germans in the Great War and is now the 4th richest nation in the world.Britain on the other way tried unsuccesful to capture our great capitol in the war and their military is stretched all over the world. They as lackeys of the U.S. also joined their trade embargo against you. So Turkey would sign an offensive MPP against Britain and a defensive one against other nations if you hand over the islands of Dodekanes to the Turkish republic or at least promise not to give them Greece.

To:Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck
From:Kemal Atatürk

Turkey strongly supports the efforts of its ally and friend from the war to put aside the regulations of Versailles as we did with Sévres. We would like to sign a NAP with the German Empire.

To: Jonas
I am offering you a Non-Agression Pact, Our great countries are close together and we would not want any "incidents"

to:stalin
we accept your offer

VERDENS GANG (a norvegian newspaper)

norways new fleet
kong jonas two years ago anounced that norway had to become more powerfull at seas.secretly since that day hundred`s of men have been working on a great fleet, the government will not say the number of ships yet but they do say that it`s more than five ships.the fleet was done just in time because italy has just finished two battleships and the US, france and britain has declared their hostility against all militaristic and facistic nations.

From Roosevelt
To Kemal Atatürk :
Roosevelt apologies for this regretable incident. I want to keep good relations with you as long as you don't align with Italy against Britain. Any bad feelings upon my friends (France - Norway - Britain) will be promptly and severely condemned by the USA. I'm also surprised that a free country like yours is aligning with a facist country. I hope you will come back to reason rapidly as the only interest of Italy is expanding their regime at all costs.
For the Syria's case, be sure that I will grant my full support to France.

From Roosevelt
To Kong Jonas :
USA accept joyfully your demand. I'm happy to see that Norway is ruled by a wise man like you. We must counter any totalitarisc expansion.

From Roosevelt
To Lettow von-Vorbec :
USA is making you a proposal. As long as you remain a free country, USA will do his best to lower Versailles's demands and will help you to remilitarize your nation. If you accept to enter the F-N-USA alliance, I will grant you my help in reindustrialization and my military support.

From Roosevelt
To De Gaulle :
USA won't allow a friend loosing lands to Italy or Turkey. I will promptly send orders on consequence.
For the German's case, I know that you understand that we must keep Germany within the free nations. I officialy ask you that Germany's remilitarization be allowed in order for Germany to defend themselves of the fascist threat. I know that you understand the situation and you will take a wise decision.
But because of the WW1's sequel in your country, I will understand any veto you could put in the decision.

From Roosevelt
To Josef Stalin :
Our two nations will strongly benefit of our NAP. I also urge you to make everything possible to counter totalitarians regimes.

From Roosevelt
To Emperor Henry Pu-Yi :
I know the long history that your dinasty has with Japan. But since three decades, USA worries about your willings of expansion in Asia and your support of China's regime. I will sign the NAP as long as you won't give any support to China in case of war.

From Roosevelt
To Eduard Benes :
USA want to invite you in the alliance against totalitarians regime.

From Roosevelt
To Churchill :
I understand your position and won't ask to do more that you can do. I'm also confident in the position's you will take in case of crisis. Anyway, I propose you a defensive MPP.

To Germany
From France
We will alow to demilitirization to be lifted of you as long as you keep only 7 tank regiments and 4 bomber wings at maximium. Then your free to build as many of everything eles as you want.

To: Kemal Ataturk

We whole-heartedly accept your offers of friendship, strength, and miltary expansion. As one ruler to another, I say that we can find strength only in sapping it away from the greed-based nations of the Allies. The plutocratic Democracies of the West will succumb to our blade.

We look forward to cooperation with you and promise that the Dodecanese islands will never be seen by a single Greek man, woman or child. We wish you luck in whatever missions you may seek to undertake, and hope to be undertaking them with you.

Most Cordially,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: Lettow von-Vorbec

We encourage you not to accept the proposal made by the American pig. Fact is, quite simply, France will not sit on her laurels while she has can pull the strings to keep you from expanding. Only under the threat of flowing blood may Germany find her place in the sun as one of the world's great powers.

You have the complete and total backing of Italy in this matter and have no need for the allies--to expand and industrialize under your wishes is to make for the balance in Europe, and should the Allies continue to gain the upper hand you will get the smallest slice of the pie and no balance whatsoever will be maintained.

Do not be tempted by these Communist co-conspirators (they are pushing to make a deal with them, for gods sake!). Catholicism, Christianity, war, Turkey and lastly Italy beckons you not to.

Watching your back,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: Emperor Pu-Yi

Do not stand idly by while the imperialists threaten to put you back to the days of minor power! Japan has the potential to destroy any such Western meddling that may repress her from realizing her dream as the leader of an Asian co-prosperity sphere. We can make our stand, take revenge for our injustices, and fight toe to toe with the former dominators!

We tell you now, you do not need the NAP; no nation needs peace with America. Every nation needs strength, and we cannot find it with men whom would sooner make refrigerators than items to defend themselves with! To arms, my friend, to arms! Now is no time for sleeping!

Signed,
Il Duce Roberto Berluciane

To: President Roosevelt

I don't know where you get it from that Japan supports the Chinese military Junta--for godsakes, they're in a war with them!

Shut your trap and stay where your pitiless meddling belongs--at home.

USA invites all free nations to take part in this alliance against evil countries.

The goal of the alliance is to counter any fascist expansion.

Here is the conditions of the Alliance :
- The only regimes who can enter the alliance are Democracy, Republic and Constitutional monarchies.
- A nation that enters the Alliance will promptly sign a trade embargo against Mexico, Italy and China.
- Any expansion wars undertaked by fascist regimes must be promptly countered by the alliance.
- In case of anti-expansion war, only the colonies can be annexed.
- In case of full-scale war against a fascist country, the primary goal will be to take the capitol, collapse the governement and to make elections to create a free nation. Annexing the homeland of the country is forbidden. The alliance want to guarantee political freedom to the people.
- Anti-expansion war don't need to be voted.
- Full-scale war against a country can only be decided by a vote of the alliance's members.
- Defensive MPPs are automatically signed between the members

Economic support :
- USA will help at the industrialization of any country that need it in order to be economicaly and militarily indepedent. The amount of this help will decided case by case
- Any other world power that can help in this initiative is welcome

All suggestions are welcome.

I, Franklin D. Roosevelt, President of the United States of America, agrees to the conditions above and sign the joining in this alliance.

[OOC] Julienne, I can't even START on how unrealistic you're playing. The US would not have signed that alliance with the UK and France, which I let go without complaining, but to take an active, hard line against what was considered by 99.9% of Americans "Europe's problem" or "Asia's problem" is really pissing me off. Yes, if the allies did this then the Fascists would have been as frustrated as I am now, but there was NO CHANCE of this happening. If it were, there would be RIOTS IN THE STREETS OF WASHINGTON. Tone it down before I start to get REALLY pissed.[/OOC]

RULE CHANGE

In order to demonstrate the American unwillingness to make war, make weapons and the effects of their huge depression their income will be lowered to 740. I wish I could have let them be played realistically with that huge potential but appearantly I can't.

From Roosevelt
To Roberto Berluciane :
I'm sorry to not call you "Duce" but this word is currently hurting my tongue each time I spell it. As long as you keep your current borders, the alliance won't intervene in any case against your country.
In the Japan's case, Japan has declared war to the very young republic of China some years ago. Until the war, China was a free nation. Because of Japan's willing of expansion, thay become a militaristic regime that execute every called " Japanese's collaborators". There is no more justice in this country nor expression freedom (like in your country). That's why I put in light the Japan's responsibilty in this case. Their imperial's willings are the source of the problem in this tragedy. And it is an example you should meditate for the Italy's future.

From Roosevelt
To Emperor Pu-Yi :
We reiterate the NAP proposal.

OOC : I'm new to the NES, but tell me what is going wrong, I will do my best.
