You're a Government in a Capitalistic Society, you have laws against the government starting it's own companies.

While China has no such prohibition...

Casting out the common working man from ever owning shares and etc. *shakes head* Those poor, poor South American countries, they shall see their countries under the Oppression of the Brazilian President who's also a lover of stocks, being bought with GOVERNMENT money, tax payer dollars. Norway is pretty capitalist/social democratic and the State owns a lot of stocks in various companies.
We even have an 'oil fund' of some hundreds of billions of dollars of oil money invested all over the world for future generations.

For games sake you cant buy out companies as, the board has majority share control and wont sell. Plus I want companies and nations as seperate things so nations cant own companies but can have a heavy influence on them and vice-versa. But companies can act like nations, even become one.
