Hobbies

The daily commute gives me time to read non-fiction. My free time consists of video games and surfing the Internet: reading science blogs, webcomics, etc.

Let me see: plenty of reading, a little bit of PC gaming, board games, all sorts of movies. Work keeps me pretty busy so that list has been shrinking.

I used to have model rocketry [and other manual-construction-type things] on that list, but now that I live in the city it is hard to find time to build and launch them.

(In order from how much time I spend on them)

Casual gaming, reading, competitive gaming, academic competition, hanging with bros, studying history, analyzing music, playing guitar, making electronic music, arts/sculpture, singing, woodcraft, casual biking, and poetry/songwriting.

Yeah I got a lot of free time on my hands. ;)

Lifting. I currently stand ranked as the second-weakest competing powerlifter in my country in the superheavyweight class (well, 11th out of 12 guys who have competed this year, not a hugely popular mass sport, that). Old enough to compete in the old guys' class starting next year, which will open some interesting potential. Long-term plan is to make sure my kids have the strongest dad in class even when they're in high school and I'm in my fifties.

Shouting expletives at NFL referees, gamezez, and trolling OT. :mischief: Reading too.

Working out has been more of a stress-relief activity for me than a hobby, and I only have time to hit the gym 2-3 times a week.

So what's the appeal of NES? I don't think I've ventured to that corner of the forum. I guess it sounded too much like some kids' fantasy movie. :)

Ain't no amount of gym time going to fix your diet, that's done in the kitchen.

Sure is, I suppose I oversold it a little bit, but I still drink more soda than I need to (zero), and have not had the time to cook for myself recently (tons o' work). I've been working on the diet, but a little bit of sweat can't hurt.
