The HOF ini has Map Finder options that need to point to the utility's folders and files. Just run Civ4_Map_Finder once and it should update the ini file.lost_civantares said:
We went with a setup program this time to install everything in the correct place. Is there a problem downloading an exe?mikezang said:Where can I get to download a zip file for this MOD? There is only a exe file to download...
Ah, go ahead and run the exe then. It is just a fancy self-extracting zip. It just gets the Civ4 install folder from the registry and installs all the files to correct mods folder. You can override the path if you care too. The mod doesn't change any of the Civ4 installed files. You can even uninstall it after you copy the files you need if you want.mikezang said:I am not sure if a exe will be a problem, but I am using Japanese civ4, so that I can't use your MOD directly, I just want to refer your python code and merge it to my files, so that I just want to get files, don't need to run it.
Can you help me?
What was the last thing you did?HighDesert said:All of a sudden, any attempt to load a 1.61.006 file gives me a RunTime Error and CTD.
I uninstalled and reloaded everything with the same result. Any ideas?

Correct.ori said:From these results and my experience, I think that the combo "settler on plains hill" is treated different from "settler on forested plains hill" - so if I do not care on which plains hill the settler starts, I have to create two rule groups - is this correct?
Is there a reason why "settler on plains hill" does not return settler on any plains hill (forested or not, river or not)?
No reason to wait for a new release for that.ori said:Also for any future release, would it be possible to include a new bonus group "mining resources" which includes gold, gems, silver so that one can tailor one rule group to the starting tech "mining" (just like with the farming, camp, pasture groups)?
Denniz said:Quick update for those of you having problems with V1.1 (NullReferenceException). I had a machine where I was able to reproduce the error. I tried beefing up the error handling to get more info without success. So I installed VB .NET on the machine so I could debug it and, of course, the problem vanished.I am not recommending that as a solution. I just have to figure out what dependency my install is missing. It is either that or some run-time licensing issue. The search goes on...
HighDesert had a similar problem. I think it was just that one run that got corrupted. You might try Map Finder again to see if it will generate a good one again. One we figure it out, we will correct it with a new version.Seraphinus said:Now I experienced another problem. MapFinder runs fine, I managed to have checked about 1000 starts in a row, but saves become unplayable. I got 10 saves, but only first and second one could be loaded. All others have larger size (above 30 KB) and I suffered CTD every time I tried to load them. It looks there is some error with saving them to MapFinder saves directory. Anybody have the same situation?

This is example of one unususal saved game by MapFinder HOF Mod. I hope I made this link properly, it is first time.
