Adding version categories to any of the victory conditions alone would be unfair to the other victory conditions, so if it were to be done, the entire HoF would triple in size. This is impossible considering that the current tables will take up nearly all our alloted webspace once all the slots are full.bed_head7 said:I wonder if this hasn't been discussed somewhere before, but I don't care to scroll through this whole thing again. Are Vanilla and PTW 20k victories recorded in the HoF with C3C 20k victories? And, I realize this discussion has been had elsewhere, at least in the GOTM forums, but should SGLs really be allowed in 20k attempts. There is no skill that I see in getting an SGL in 2000 BC and rushing the Pyramids or the Colossus. It just means someone got really lucky.
bed head7 is mostly correct. You are allowed two games per map/difficulty/victory condition in the fastest finish categories. The only exception would be the default high score tables, where it's theoretically possible someone could fill all ten slots by having 2games_X_5victories. Considering the competitive nature of this environment however, I seriously doubt that will ever happen.LulThyme said:I remember reading (I think in this thread Im too lazy to check) that youre not allowed to submit more than 2 games per difficulty setting per type of victory.
DO you think we could add per map size, since that is one of the way to sorts the map, it would allow to be on all different sortings for example (Im not sure Im being clear...)
A rose by any other name smells just as sweet. CivAssist is legal for play, however it is encouraged that players use the most recent version available.Ginger_Ale said:Aeson - (not that I have any HOF games going, but I might soon) - on "Allowed Utilities" on the Rules Thread, you list TradeAssist, by ainwood. He has now made it into CivAssist. (Check the utilities forum for it!) It takes your autosaves and analyzes them to tell you if there are any new techs for trading, new luxs/resources, new contacts, if a city is about to riot, if you are going to waste beakers on your last turn of research, etc. I would assume that since this is mostly like TradeAssist, it will be allowed, however, I would like a confirmation. Thanks.

Your safest course of action is to wait until you're healed before attempting HoF games.viper275 said:I tend to click on the wrong thing and ruin something. In cases like this, are reloads still disallowed as long as the turn is recreated in the best way possible (just changing what you messed up)?.
No! The preservation of the random seed means that no matter how many times someone might reload, the spearman will always take out the tank. Any HoF submission that doesn't have the random seed preserved will be rejected immediately.viper275 said:Also, wouldn't having preserve random seed off stop people from reloading for reasons like losing a battle? Just a suggestion there.

In regards to early SGL's being "lucky", that's not absolutely the case. While tedious, it is possible for someone to go through map after map until they get the SGL they want.
My apologies for misunderstanding you, I guess in trying to answer all the pending individual trees I forgot to look at the forest.bed_head7 said:I was not suggesting adding any tables. I was simply asking whether PTW scores even remained in the HoF. There is a 1575 victory in PTW that isn't on the table, and I thought that due to the change of no MGL wonder rushing, victories on older versions were no longer on the table. But I guess, as was suggested already, that the person just did not submit.

Why wait? I'm sure I'm not the only one that let's Mapfinder run while I'm sleeping or out of the house. That way, once you're ready to play, you've got plenty of maps waiting for you!Ginger_Ale said:Ok, thanks for your response. Now all I need is one of my SGs to end and I'll put CivAssist and MapFinder to good use.

CRpStat - Gives the domination limit, and how close you are to it. Use of Mapstat options to generate knowlege of the AI that is otherwise hidden from you in your game is not acceptable though
Leave the MapStat preferences on the defaults and you'll be okay. Good to see you back in the thick of things.boogaboo said:... "knowlege of the AI that is otherwise hidden from you in your game is not acceptable"... whaich knowledge exactly is unacceptable?
Thank you. It's more of a common problem where I'll be careful.superslug said:Your safest course of action is to wait until you're healed before attempting HoF games.
I was confused. I meant exactly the opposite (I thought preserve random seed made reloading possible.)No! The preservation of the random seed means that no matter how many times someone might reload, the spearman will always take out the tank. Any HoF submission that doesn't have the random seed preserved will be rejected immediately.
Under the circumstances, I'm open to an actual debate on it:Bartleby said:This is in relation to what has been said elsewhere but it concerns the Rules so I ask here.
re the Wonder Victory...
My understanding is that as soon as the last wonder is built whoever has the lead in the Histograph wins--is there more to it than this? because I don't really see why that should disqualify a game for the HoF.
