HOF Version 3 - "Test Run"

no, not this time.
I think it was a good combo well prepared by the British !
taking a coastal city, and then attack cities not (or not well) defended...

Well, if I have to defend my home cities at this early stage, than I can as well resign, because then there are no units left to send to the Eastern Front...

Can't wait to get the .sav to see what happend. But if it is as bad as it looks like from That-Guy's description, then the game is basically over.

Lanz...not sure what you are referring too? I know I played the August 1942 Minor Allies turn. It was saved as such and I forwarded it to TG. Not sure what your 1945 question is in regards too?

I thought Eric's post indicated we were moving on with play despite the Benghazi issue? We don't need to be re-playing turns at this point IMHO.

Cheers!

don't be so pessimistic... Germany have captured a lot of russian cities.
And the Axis is not only Germany... but also Japan and minor Axis.
By the way, you surely lost a lot of production (city pillaged), but major part of your units are still alive, and MA sent you back your lost cities

in other hand, it will force you to play with a bit more carefull tactic... more over when the scenario is such that you have an ennemy that can attack you with amphibious units... and then attack with high movement units... That force you to
- protect coastal cities
- protect inland cities (and/or the roads going to that cities).

Benghazi is no longer our problem... Read That-Guy's post #278: he just conquered half of Europe in one turn. :goodjob:
And as that did not happen before 1945, I was jokingly asking, whether it's already 1945 and I missed the D-Day somehow... :crazyeye:

Yes well we look like toast at this point.

I had a crash on the espionage screen a turn or two ago. Had to re-do it but got caught up in other things. Anyone else have this or have I missed a fix?

Hello,
please note that i will be on holliday next week, far away from my PC...
Then, i hope i will have my turn to play before saturday in order not to slow the next turn

I've received a file called that guy of the british august 1942
I don't think it's the good file...

i got the save file a bit late to play yesterday,
i wil play it tonight, before to go on hollydays

The axis are confident that a victory is just around the corner

One of the better turns for the Allies than Axis I believe. But the war hangs in the balence to be sure! 3 Heavy BBs, 2 SSs, & 2 Kates/B7s does help things in the Pacific a bit.... Plus the US Raid on the Home Islands has to be factored in as well!!

Way to go Muz!!

Eric, I have a problem:

File not found error:
art\units\kgv\..\Battleship\BattleshipRun.wav

I tried to play today on a laptop on which I had installed the German edition of Conquests. I did all the necessary adjustments to the PediaIcons.txt file as are necessary for a localized Civ installation. (I.e. rename all standard Civ3 units to their German equivalent, like Settler -> Siedler, Spearman -> Lanzenkämpfer, etc.)

I also renamed Battleship to Kriegsschiff like this:

#ANIMNAME_PRTO_Battleship
Kriegsschiff

The BattleshipRun.wav file does exist in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Infogrames\Civilization III\Art\units\Kriegsschiff\BattleshipRun.wav

Still I get the above error. Attached is my PediaIcon.txt. Any idea?
Otherwise I need to wait till I get back home and try again on my English C3C installation.

Cheers, Lanzelot

Well my take is...I think we should all leave well enough alone for this trial. Let's quit messing with files, saves, and what not. And since I'm on a rant..not the best day I've had...how about let's start playing the turns in a reasonable amount of time? Two days a turn at most.

People have lives..work, home, school, travel. I get it. But if any of us are going to be away for a week or more..then let your allies play the turn? THis is a trial after all.

Sorry guys...I'm just tired of these good games that get started with good opponents then never reach the finale. It just gets old. Maybe its just me?
