My very first game that I played, I was Egypt -- because that was my favorite from CivIII. I played on Settler, and it was a cakewalk.
My second game I played as Frederick of Germany (call it an ethnic weakness). I was delighted with the results -- at last I could win a game playing as Germany -- something that I could rarely do in CivIII.
I quickly progressed to the Noble level and am trying to play each of the leaders a couple of times -- easiest way to learn the strengths and weaknesses of all of them. However, I find that I am completely hooked on having a Creative civ and getting those 2 culture / turn.
So here's the question: How do you manage to get enough culture to stay alive and expand during the early game if you are playing a non-Creative civ?
