As britain swelters in it's current heatwave, making today the hottest day this year at 34 degrees (where's the damn degree symbol). Experts had predicted this week would see britains hottest temperatures ever, breaking the 100 farhenheit barrier (37.4 degrees celsius).

But i'm sure there are many who would shrug off this kind of heat and say it was a brief chill... how hot is it where you are? :)

about 35° C right now, and it has been that way for over a week now, which is quite unusual for this area. This is propably going to be one of the hottest summers here ever.

Don't sell yourself short - that's hot!

In the American Midwest, we'll usually have a few days where it will break 100. 90's are very common, though.

It has been very warm over here (Netherlands) for over three weeks, its about 30-32' Celcius over here...

As of right now, it is 80º in Cambridge. Of course, indoors with air conditioning, it is significantly cooler. :)

just came back from paris yesterday it was about 39 there 34 here in Bexley (suburb of London)

It hovers between about -5 (Night low) and 25 (Day high) here. The worst heat I ever encountered was in Melbourne this Janurary, with a scorching 47 degrees. Bear in mind that I also had to fence in this weather, in a full body kevlar suit and mask, in an non air conditioned warehouse for the whole day. :(

47 degrees... and doing heavy work... and in stifling clothes? O_o

Sounds like my idea of hell...

I'm a big pansy when it comes to heat now... I lived in greece for 3 years where it frequently hit 40 degrees and i don't remember it bothering me much (the sea next door and a large amount of free swimming pools nearby probably helped). But that was 10 years ago... and now i'm sweating like mad

º means "degrees", not celsius. "º C" specifies celsius. Note the distinct lack of a C after my º and then note my location; my temperature scale of choice should be easily infered from context.

It's around 30 here right now. I can't stand much more of this heat (it has been up to 33 I think). And there's even some humidity which I really can't stand.

Sorry, thought the little circle symbol meant celsius, shows how much attention I paid in science class :p

Its about 80 degrees here, and I'm going golfing.

:yeah: :p

I wish I was you, i've got the week off work, which would normally be a great thing considering this weather, but all my friends are working 9-5 jobs, i'm currently single so... i'm all alone with nothing to do ::rolleyes:

In here it's not too hot... I remember when I lived in Eilat it used to be 42-45C every day in the summer. But it was a great weather. :)

It is quite warm here. Luckily the room with my computer in it is quite cool, plus I have a fan just in case. It is very different to last night when the rain was really bad and there was a lot of thunder and lightening

Yeah according the bbc news site tens of thousands were cut off from power by the thunderstorms yesterday... strange price to pay for the days of sun mainland uk has had!

I heared State of Emergency was declared in southern France, as they had a big lack of drinking water.
