Hot or not?

Close to 40 ºC now. Last friday was the hottest day in years with 43 ºC.
Btw, last friday the temperature in Seville reached the astonishing mark of 53 ºC.

I heared State of Emergency was declared in southern France, as they had a big lack of drinking water.

Maybe Evian needs to stop exporting to the USA.

normally its about 32-35 here, (espesally since band camp is tommorow) but its actually pretty cool, only about 19-23 out. (and yes i am one of the 5 people in kentucky that can convert to celsius :p )

It's pretty recent that english weather forecasts have been using celsius over fahrenheit, I still remember the old "it's 60 degrees out and miserable" forecasts.

Been having a cold wave in AZ. Only 33-36 degrees. :p

@Lord Byron: When you were in the warehouse, did they just
stuff a tube down your throat and pump water? 'Bout the only way I could see to live through that...

@McDread: 53! I am impressed. Did they close the airport?
It hit 51 in Phoenix in 1990, and the airport was closed because
there was no performance data for the aircraft past 50 degrees.

in south France to stop people using there cars the public transport is free and also the Neaclur power plants were at high risks according to the high temps so i have heard

I've heard they declared the whole country a catastrophe zone because of the fires there. How's the situation now?

Here in Northern Germany it is very warm in relative terms but not too bad compared with the South. We have about 30° - 32° C (like the Netherlands) while it's close to 40° in the South.

I think it is the hottest summer since they began recording the temperatures.

Let's have a little quiz: Question: Where do you expect it to be over 110 degrees (not C) for two to three weeks straight:
A. Arizona
B. 120 Miles from the US-Canadian border
or C. The Sahara Desert
The correct answer is B where I live next to mountainous forests and a huge glacial lake:eek:
But right now its a decent 88 degrees

Today it has gotten up to 103 degrees. In the last week the high has usually been around 105.

I live in the Appalachain mountains on the North American eastern coast, and to be honest, I have no idea what the temperatures have been lately. Whatever they've been, it's been very nice! The humidity has been so low and it's rained so often, that the only way you can break into a sweat is if you're jogging at midday where there's no shade. Warm, but not quite hot....

....of course I may have a different opinion in the middle of January when I'm scraping two inches of ice off my windshield...

I was in Austria last week and it was nearly 35' C, also we had thundershowers every evening and when I was in Klagenfurt we were bombarded by hail stones the size of a euro. Neverseen it before.

Also they suggest not to swim in a lot of inner water in the Netherlands, as algae grows very quickly in this heat.

It's darn too hot...

I am moving at the end of the month and got a lot of work to do, the horror

It's been about 303 degrees here all summer.

Kelvin, that is ;)

here it usually hits 90. sometimes it peaks to the hundred range. and yes i can convert this to the metric system, but it'll be a cold day in hell when i switch from standard

My part of Canada has been over 30 degrees almost every day for over three weeks now. The highest it got was about 38. Those kind of temperatures are not unusual for western Canada, but usually not for such a long stretch.

its been in the 90s here with high humidity for most of the summer. working in it sucks though, its on average 30-40 degrees hotter on the roof, and everything melts and sticks to you :D

Only an Englishman could have a thread devoted to 'ooo int it hot'.
