I was playing hotseat with 6 friends so 6 human players when after turn 50 or so the game crashed... I thought that this was just one crash...

But each time we started a new game (with 6 humans) the game crashes...

Whats up with this? Do i need software to play hotseat?

I am a little bid angry about this because they promised us a hotseat so if somebody could explain how i could fix this?

You're using any mod? Maybe the save got corrupted.

I didnt use any mods. Can it have someting to do with my firewall?

I do have mods but i have them all disabled.... And i cant remeber using one for that game

edit: i didnt save the game only let it auto save.. So it crashes when i am playing not when i am louding it

My brother and I had the same thing happen after turn 60. The last turn autosaved was 60, and when I reup the game, I cannot end the turn to continue so even the savegame is screwed up. I was playing chieftain level to show my bro the game. Everything was fine, working great, then the game just stuck and then CTD. Let me know if you hear of any solutions. I am sure firaxis will be working to fix the issue.

No mods it is hotseat. I was playing on a huge map 12 civs. Two human 10 AI civs.

Strange I was thinxing it was because i had to many human players but you only had 2 human players..

I had 6 human players just on a small map..

Only problem i could see is that large maps or maps with a lot of human players crashes the game thats really anoying hope they fix this...

Edit: thanxs for reply i thought it was a technical problem with my computer but it seems more people have this problem

I was wondering though. I do have two mods active. I use the infoaddict, and AG resource mod, which tells how many luxury resources you have available and exported. I did not turn those off because I figured through Hotseat they had no effect. During the game we never checked to see if they were available on the interface. I was teaching my bro how to play and so on. Does anyone know that if any mods are enabled, do they mess with Hotseat? Thanks for any help. Thanks for the reply apocalypse105, I am sure they will find a solution to this.

UPDATE- I just fixed the game that crashed yesterday. What I did was uploaded my last autosave, which was turn 60 and saved the game at that point. I did this last night and turned my pc off. This morning I reuploaded that new save and VOILA! It works excellent! I am behind maybe 5 turns, but no worries. So if you crash on hotseat and did not save during the game, save at last autosave when you reupload the game. Then upload your new save and you should be fine. BTW mods enabled do not matter, they do not show up in a hotseat game, at least at this point.

You mean new games created just crash?

What error message it showS?

Yep error message and civ 5 shut down...
This is when i am playing the game and it happens everytime..

Starting a hotseat game isnt a problem but keeping it playing thats difficult

Could you please post the auto-save in question, as well as your DXDIAG? Thanks.

Me neither what is that DXDIAG?

I see apocalypse found it out, but for everyone:
Q.) "Please provide a Dxdiag." What does this mean, how do i do that?

Hit the "Windows key" and "R", type in Dxdiag, hit enter. A menu will appear, with a save option at the right bottom. Do this, save it as a file and attach it here. We are able to see what system and drivers you have with this file.

Edit: Apocalypse, please update your graphics card driver, it's dated at the beginning of 2009.

So the problam of the hotseat crashes are because i have a not up to date graphic card? Or what?

I'm not getting the crash from your auto-save, but I am seeing the "can't end the turn" issue.

Also, like the user mentioned above, manually saving the game at this point seems to clear it and allows it to progress.

We're looking at this now.

Ok so the crash has someting to do with my computer but its strange because i can play huge map games in single player without crashing even at medium video quality settings.

Hot-Seat can actually tax the system more than single player because the graphics are clearing and rebuilding rapidly each turn.

As for the auto-save bug, we're taking a look at it. Thanks for posting it.

Yes, saving the game on the corrupted autosave, fixes the cannot end turn problem. I have not played my game further, I will be Monday, and keep an eye on any further crashes. I was going to save every ten turns, but I think I will continue play without doing this to see if the same problem occurs again. If it does, I will post the issue. One thing I do know is that my graphics card is up to date. I use an ATI Radeon 5700 series graphics card. I have never had a graphics issue yet. I also have 8 GB RAM, and an AMD Phenom II x4 945 processor.

When the issue did occur the game got stuck as I moved my last unit of the turn. The game did not let me end the turn, when I clicked the next turn button. This was about turn 65 or so. My last auto save was turn 60.
