Not only is Orthus camping on top of the Goodie Hut, but Barbatos is sitting on the Broken Sepulchre just waiting to send a host of wraith to kick your ass when you remove Orthus.

Yes, I've seen this as well as up to 4 barb units on a Goodie Hut. That Goodie Hut you mentioned should have Animal Mastery or Iron Working in it.

Really, I think it is time to remove the normal barb units (and Orthus!) from guard duty on goodie huts and bear lairs. Let the bears guard their own lairs and leave those goodie huts open for exploration. The barbs should be attacking and pillaging, not standing around with their hands in their pockets. ;)

I reloaded for goodie huts so mutch time, now i play only without them.
I have to say it is funny to have 30 xp assasins/rangers while the computer is researching hunters, but not for a long time :)

Their running a protection scam, terrorizing the villagers - who will reward you as best they can for saving them. Either that or its Orctown. (Barb Spawn)

Gameplay args...not found.

Maybe Orthus decided he'd at long last had enough of death, so he chose to retire to a peaceful village, far away from that accursed civilization.

You should have taken it. Barbatos can't see through trees you know. I've skirted the Broken Sepulchre many times thanks to trees. :P

Well the scout in the picture died by wraith, as did one that stopped on the coast two squares above Barbatos - he seems more lethal in patch g - previously I've only every seen him summon Earth Elementals with a movement of 1, not wraiths with a movement of 2.

I've never seen Barbatos summon anyting because I jack him with a stack of 10-12 warriors if he spawns near my city. That is usually enough since several die, but they do a little damage with each hit.

In my current game Barbatos is a real pussycat. I have had a Worker in the tile next to him and he just sits there. Maybe he's asleep.

Well, like all heroes Barbatos gains xp over time, with which he then buy promotions. Promotions like Death III or Earth III, which allow him to send forth the heavy artillery. But he doesn't seem to spawn with them, so he is relatively safe for the first turns.
