AND I'm pretty sure you got the quote WRONG!

Stalin is the dude that came out with this statement...if you start being responsible for thousands or millions of deaths you are usually doing it with the complicity of ALOT of people and certainly with their help.

It is these self-same people that will safe-guard your name for it is part of their history...and almost everyone is proud of their history
