How did you choose your username?

Dervish is a callsign I've been using for a decade now. I suppose I originally chose it because my oldest recorded ancestor was a dervish, so I decided to do honor and use something that isn't used often. Of course sometimes I try to select Dervish as my name, and the bigger message boards will say it's taken. I've never met another person callsigned Dervish before, though.

Davo is my nickname (plus I also use it for DJ'in) and alot of people call me it in person as well, and I often get introduced as 'Davo' to new people. Thats one of the thigns about Bath, we have nicknames for each otehr and often don't knwo each othes real names:lol: I use Davo elsewhere on the internet as well.

The Comnrade bit got added cuz I was young and wanted something that soudned civish:crazyeye:

I don't use this username anywhere but here. I choose it because I wanted a weird name and I wasn't thinking too clearly that day.

Far back in the early days of this site, I posted the explanation in a little annecdote.

Skipping that story, it has been a name/alter ego/AD&D character for quite some time...since about 1992.

Regards,

To me, you'll always be our beloved DP, and I don't mean dual purpose, although we could have your erectus bozo stretched into a 5/54 cal DP version.

Thanks Simon:hatsoff: DP is alive and well, he just doesnt have keyboard privileges anymore:crazyeye:

Nahh, as far me mum is concerned, her precious perfect Bozo was never a dumb pothead, no matter how many roaches she'd sweep up in my room, it was all some sort of mix-up;)

I shall have a flunky from the Ministry of Women and Other Alien Species dob on you to her. Then she'll tell you off and slam your Basil Brush in a drawer.

It'll never happen, not only is she a Ministerette of the Ministry of Doting Mums, she also has always been an outspoken advocate for keeping Basils clean and well brushed at all times:crazyeye:

Then I shall visit you both in the small hours and stick a bat up your nightie, in the tradition of another Basil.

Ah, banter.

I got my username from Dionysius the First, Tyrant of Syracuse.
A highly underrated and somewhat demonised individual.
usually have several different usernames for different sites, due
to my chronic paranoia.

I was just trying to get something down so I could ask a question, so I got Tycoon101 for the heck of it.

I had been reading The Merchant of Venice in English at the time and I thought Shylock sounded cool.

It has since been retired in favour of Skooma.

Flevance was a charactor I made up some years back in D&D. He was a gnome sorceror bent on world domination/destruction. I began playing civ in my D&D days and always used the name for my games. I just threw on King for the heck of it, as he is usually the King of my empire.

I only use this name in the gaming boards. As Flevance is usually my ingame handle.

First thing to pop into my head when I signed up.

Yep, that's the story.

For some reason, my classmates started calling me "stuge" in the fifth grade. (And various mutations have arisen throughout the years, believe you me.) Nowadays I'd swear that people recall me as "stuge" more often than as "Tuomas". Even my old finnish teacher called me "stuge". Hence, my nick. I'm afraid that I'll have to change my name someday, lest my personality splits up.

First name is James... second name is Robert. Put them together and you get jimbob. 27's my lucky number... so it all makes perfect sence.:)
