How Does One Become a Moderator?

Well, moderators are chosen by thunderfall usually when someone comes up with a new idea(GOTM, Dem Game, Civ3 Tourney). If you come up with a good idea for a competion or something like that and thunderfall likes it he may give it a forum and there is a good chance that the creator of the idea would be the mod. This isn't to say everyone shoudl bombard TF with idea PMs but if you feel you REALLY have a great and new idea you may try pming him.

Other than that occasionaly mods retire(see: PaleHorse76, Cornmaster, and others) and replacements are chosen(see: gonzo_for_civ).

It is very important to have a substantial history at the site, without any episodes of flipping out. Also you heed to have demostrated a self sufficient ego, and not have shown any power hunger.

Also try to contribute as much as possible to CFC (helping out with the forums, news, etc.). That helps.

In fact... 4 out of the 5 most recent mods were from the Demogame.
