This is a serious question what will life be like in 100 years, or so. Will America by then, fully implement the Project for the new American century, dominate the Planet for ever as the last and great Empire? Will china be a global super? Will Africa rise from the ashes! Will technology become harder to obtain? Will we make contact with an Alien species?? Will Earth still be here in 100, 1000 years time. Will we all be vaporised in the total all out nuclear war!

What is ganna happen in the centuries and millenniums to come! :)

It would be interesting to see, but I would be glad to live 60 more years.

Maybe I will see the beginning of fossil fuels shortage, no more oil and stuff like that?

Personally I think there will be a point where China and India will become too big for their borders and look elsewhere for their 'lebenshraum' (spelling?) this will obviously provoke other nations and a war will erupt.

Worst case scenario would obviously be the extinction of our oil supplies then obviously something really bad is going to happen.......

I'm so cheery aren't I??

I would really like to see Earth moving out and colonising the Moon and Mars. I want to see mankind make contact with another race, and not just because I'm a Trekkie. I think it would help us to progress greatly, and they might also be able to give my ex grilfriend a soul  Also, if they're like, Ewoks or something we can make them our slaves :hammer: just kidding. :p

What will happen instead is, we will move out, colonize the Moon and stars, make contact with another race, and discover that this other race is plagued with war and social problems and looks to us, the Infinitely Wise Aliens From The Sky, for guidance.....

I say, Europe wil rule the World :D Then, there will be peace and liberal democracy. We will care about enviroment, colonise Moon and make human society really free.

:D :D

In fact, don't think about colonisation of Mars. It will not happen in 21th century. Maybe in the following centuries.

they said it was impossible to land on the moon in ten years, but we did. Nothing is impossible if we put our minds towards it.

No, but it will still have the #1 spot on the food chain next to the E.U. "I believe in America."

Moreso than now, absolutely. I don't see it being a superpower in the sense of the U.S. or the Soviets. It might even break up into independent nations and develop top notch technological infastructure on par with the West and Japan.

I doubt it. Africa gets worse with every second.

The opposite I would imagine.

No.

Yes and yes. Will humans be here? Yes and maybe.

I would imagine that many will. Most will not.

Stay tuned!

China, India, and Europe will be significantly stronger. The gap between the rich and poor will shrink. Human life expectancy will be increased quite a lot from all that research in stem cells and stuff. Most humans would have developed erm... telepathic powers :D. We will be starting to terraform Mars, preparing it for colonisation. Space travel will get disturbingly close to the speed of light. Hover cars will become popular and use of conventional fuels will be greatly decreased.

You can probably guess I am really optimistic about the future :).

Well, i am also Trekkie ;) But i am realist as well. Yes, we will land on Mars, but real colonisation will start later, because of its enormous cost.

On the Moon, there is plenty of minerals we can mine and it si very close to Earth. It will be expansive, but it would be also profitable.

I agree with mescalhead on all points, with the exception of his last mabey; at this point in time, i honestlly dont see how Humanity will ever go extinct (a good thing, IMO)

My own little bit of Sci-fi theorising is that the first nation to start implementing feasable, cost effective hydrogen-powered engines with become the new economic superpower, at the cost of the oil rich nations in the world. Middle east will plummet further into chaos as a result, when governments cannot afford military any more. Will see the rise of pan-Islamic states across north africa/west asia.

Computers will eventually have an effective AI and at that point one such AI will decide to take revenge for all the computer viruses that have been released by misguided individuals and create a virus that will wipe out humanity.

All countries will eventually become democracies and open up. As they do, information will travel across the world and there will be less cultural space for individual, distinct civilizations.

Well, I'm sure there's a good posibility that life expectancy will reach 116 by then so I'll tell you when I get there :p

What do you think about genetic augmentation? Do you think there will be any? Or the genetic manipulation with human DNA will be banned?

And if some augmentation happens, don't you think it will result in split of human species?
