How long does your game usually take?

With Conquests, we can now see how long our games take, which I find cool. How long does it take to complete your games, on average? It takes me about 35-40hours, probably more than you guys since I have a 400MHz, 128Mb RAM PC. I also play regent.

It depends on the map size but with a reasonably large map I will probably spend over 20 hours on a game and then feel like I could have done something more productive for at least some of the time...

Most of my games end up being around 12 hours for a standard sized map. A tiny map generally ends up around 2-3 hours, and I have yet to finish a huge map.

I don't play straight. So it is hard to tell. Probluely 21 to 30 hours. I play on huge maps.

16h for my last finished game on a Standard map, IIRC. Make that about 24h on a Huge map.

I hate being able to see how much time I spent playing. It just rubs in how much time I wasted while I could have been doing useful stuff.

havent finished one since 4 months ago... i have 50 saved games waiting to get finished. Usually, after i became a dominant force, i stop playing cuzz its boring to finish a game thats already won.

On my standard maps it take around 20-25 hours. But I have finished some maps in as little as 30 mins (tiny pangea) or as much as 60+ hours (large archipelaego). I could probably go even longer, but I find Huge maps too tedious.

Standard maps: 12 hours is currently my lucky number. Either a minute before or after. Seems like fate. Earlier it was 20 hours. I seem to have less time so i end uf developing time saving methods.

For me, tho, 30+ hours is not uncommon. I once had a game that took 111 hours. But then, there were several nights that I left the puter on Civ while sleeping. That still only knocks it down to about 90 hours. As I recall, that was a modded map, about 200x200, on my little 850mhz Athalon. Those turns got long at the end....I may have had 'no AI patrolling' turned off. That would increase the time as well.

For most people, 10-25 hours. There's also those who love huge maps, and micromanagement haven (and LOTS of wars!!!) that take 200 hours. (computer speed also affects it, too...)

I don't know exactly how long, but i play Huge maps, and i play them for usually more than two weeks. (I don't play civ3 extensively) So i have voted 51+ hours. However still i am getting faster.

But, usually 35 hrs on the clock and 30hrs at the keyboard

If it's a regent/monarch game, I could see only 20 or so hours though.

For a really long game, go read SirPleb's assault on Sid in the HoF. 432 hours, IIRC.

My last game was about 240 hours. Huge map, emp, 3rd place in HOF.

The longest ive come accross is 'SirPleb, Going for Sid', which is well over 400 hours IIRC.
