How long will YOU give Firaxis?

If your going to return it remember best buy has a no return policy on all opened software. EB games, gamestop, etc are adopting the same policy at the begining of november so chop chop with those returns.

I'm suffering through the Dark Terrain bug.

I haven't been playing Civ as long as some of you, but my impression is that Firaxis has a rep for being a quality developer. If that's true, it seems likely that they're working on fixing on this soon.

Having said that, I'm with most of you: It helps to have reassurance from them that they are working on it. I'd likely give them a month if they're working on it, maybe closer to two weeks if we don't hear from them.

returned mine right away. didn't want to wait and get screwed. like fuzzybunny, i'll buy it from the bargain bin in a few years when i need to get a new computer for other things as well. my suggestion: BE SURE you know it will run on your system, now or if it is ever fixed, before you buy.

How can we BE SURE before we buy? It's not a straight-up hardware problem, as I've been reading the boards and it appears no one is quite sure what is the issue. Some players report no problems on 5-year old computers and some with top-of-the-line graphics cards are having issues.

So in this case, there is no way to be sure it works unless you actually buy it, or if you have a friend who will let you borrow.
