How many AIs in conflict?

@Charles_22: Such a game has been won on Sid (see Stories and Tales - I came, I SAW...) but it was kinda a cop-out (not to take anything away from Arathorn), and I'm currently playing an Emperor version (after losing on Deity twenty times) and it's very easy (link in my sig - Tenna's Shell), and definately not impossible.

That's a lot of parentheses... :ack:

I've never had more than five against me, which was, however, everyone; I'd started with seven opponents, but Babylon had already eliminated France, and Zululand was destroyed in a dogpile, which I was fifth of six in joining--I did manage to get one city from it though. Yes, I survived the dogpile on me, but went on to lose the game as Babylon launched a spaceship.

None of it's too eay for me, as I routinely lose in regent (or quit because I'm fed up with something, such as losing a city when I'm ganged up on). There's times where I'll sweat out losing a city and times where I won't. It largely depends on where I am with the Republic I'm using, which, of course, if one is on war constatly, could only be used if one had access to some major accumulation of luxuries/wonders.

Oh, I'm a parenthesis-monger myself.
