If Thom Hartmann is the radio guy, I've heard of him. Nobody else, though.
I voted zero, but the above is true for me ^^^.

So you equate all non mainstream ideas with conspircay theories?
No. I am equating people who I have never heard, apparently few other people have ever heard of, and most likely will never be heard of again to clutter that has no need of being stored in my attic. :)

Thom Hartmann I've heard of. I enjoyed his perspective on ADD.

John Robbins is the vegan guy, I didn't know he named his kid Ocean. :ack:

Charles Eisenstein sounds familiar but not sure 100% who he is.

Put down for 0 as well.

Eisenstein... he's not the guy who has Eisenstein's irreducibility criterion named after him, I guess...

On a quick glance, only Jacob Needleman.
Some of the names sounded familiar, but googling showed I didn't know them.

I have heard of exactly nil of these guys.

Oh!! I do know Jacob Needleman. I read his book "The New Religions" a very long time ago.

I am up to two now.

None, and I'm darn tootin' proud of it! :goodjob:
Every time someone is proud of his ignorance I'm getting a little more cynical. And I don't want to be cynical :(

Oh, and I don't know any of them. But non-mainstream monetary ideas that don't involve the gold hype sound interesting, colour me intrigued :)

Generally speaking, progressive thinker types that are critical of the structure of our current money system. And they all happen not to be gold or silver bugs, which for some reason is rare in the realm of being critical of the money system nowadays.

Professor Lietaer with a short story on demurrage:

Gold and silver bugs are common on the extreme right of politics and economics in the US. People on the left, center, and even moderate right know that gold and silver are terrible money.

I was reading through that list and didn't recognize any of the names. I felt very uninformed. It's comforting to know that a lot of people here also had no idea who they were.

Actually, I'm proud of using that space in my attic to be less ignorant about more important subjects. :D

Everything has an opportunity cost. I'm proud of my ignorance of the particulars of arguments used by a number of conspiracy theories (I'm not claiming that's what these people are, I know nothing about them) because that is time I spent doing something else that was either more productive or more enjoyable. If you feel your time was better used on something else than it was in rectifying ignorance or even if rectifying one ignorance was done at the cost of being able to rectify another, I see no reason why one shouldn't be proud.

I've only ever heard of Thomas Greco, but that was a complete coincidence. Earlier, I was reading on alternative currency and he came up through random link clicking.

A few of the others sound a little familiar, but I'm really bad with names when I can't attach faces to them.
