How to Create a Civilization in BTS

I was looking for it. I have windows Vista. Usually I just right click and select "run as administrator" but the option doesnt appear anywhere. Is there another way to run as admin?

btw very helpful tutorial. If I could just save this would be easier lol.

Try right clicking on the folder as a whole, and selecting "properties". You should be able to change the editing rights.

What exactly do you mean? The flag, a static leaderhead or a button?

Flags should be 128*128 pixels, buttons at max 64*64 pixels (bigger will crash the game).

OK.For my leader (statics) I have got a problem : in civilopedia (leader), it's the small picture that displays. ANd the civilopedia (civ), it's the big small that displays top, I can't see all.

When you hit the "post reply" button, you get to an advanced menu. At the bottom of that site you should find a button "manage attachements", which allows you to upload stuff, including images.

You must have mixed them up. Try to switch the images, then it might work.
(at least it appears to me like that, that you have used by accident the big image as button, and the small image as leader)

Thanks. For my leader, ok, but no for my civilization. However, for civilisation, no. I checked where I put my file and for that, no problem...

Then you have to make sure that is the right file.
Sometimes you don't see it when you look at it. So the best is that you copy the name of you file and paste it into the XML file. Because there might be a small typo which you just don't see.

You probably did the flag the wrong way around .
For a flag which changes with the player colour (therefore it's probably red), you have the actual flag as background ("alpha channel"), and a transparent foreground.
For a flag which does not change with the player colour, you have the flag in the foreground, and a transparent background.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about: .zip the file and attach it here, I'll take a look at it.

Ah, forgot one thing: In Art\ArtDefines_civilizations set

<bWhiteFlag>0</bWhiteFlag>

to 1.

Edit: It seems you have a space at the end of the button definition in ArtDefines_Civilization. You should maybe remove it.

...mmhh....ah....there, the flag is in the wrong format.
You saved it as DDS DXT1, but it needs to be DDS DXT3, and the alpha channel has to be black.
