how to get the 'true OSX icon' working?

i downloaded it but i can't figure out how to get it in the dock instead of the original one . . .

The easiest way I know is as follows:

- Download and expand ejday's set of files here
- In Finder select Get Info for the C-IV App Files/C-IV app, highlight the icon top left corner and select Edit/Copy.
- In Finder select Get Info for your Civ4 application "file" (actually a bundle), highlight the icon in the top left corner and select Edit/Paste.

This puts the icon on your Civ4 application. Then drag that to the dock to put it there.

BTW, the background of the icon doesn't seems transparent; at least under 10.2.8.

Does everyone else see a black backround for the icon?

Not if you use the one I used. 10.2.8 is ancient history around here, but I think icon transparency has been a reality in OS X since it was NeXT OS.
