HOW TO: Import/modify/export LH

^I have an easier method. :p I'll post a tutorial about how to select faces rather than verticies. Takes much less time and you can see the texture.

just use the old blender and old scripts. i just made a leaderhead today :)
Well, It worked with previous parameters but I will see if DK ways are working first. Thanks, bro.

here's how i do it

you select the objects with right click. they turn pink

then you select edit mode, they turn into wireframe. now when you right click it selcts a point

right click on an object and then press cntrl+numpad "+" a bunch of times and it will select a whole bunch of stuff.

then press delete and select "faces". be careful this will delete a bunch of stuff, you need to play with it to get used to this.

for instance, on the leader i made today "Josip Tito" i needed a stalin hat, so i deleted all of his body and bones and eyes, ect. until just the hat was left. this method is limited somewhat by the separations of the models.

once you have the part you want isolated by deleting everything else, you can export it as a nif, then use the nifviewer to place it on your leader.

for arms and stuff, i dont think there will be much you can do however. the method i list is good mainly for "accessories"

what is this with? I'm using nikskope and dont see these options

Well, in fact you can do this with any body part. If you want to add Stalin's arm to Isabella (yeah i know, it won't be the most beautifull thing), you only have to seperate his arm, delete Isabella arm, join the two object (the arm and the one arm Isabella), tie the verticles of Isabella Shoulder to the verticles of Stalin arm and than you rig the arm and Isabella will move his brand new arm like her old one.

^Yes, I'd like to see a tutorial on that! I've been trying to do things like that by scaling nodes and such but I never get anywhere! (please Roland, another tutorial time!) I'm making the ripping-off tutorial today. Check in the afternoon.

how do you join the the cut off arm to the stump? what buttons in blender you have to press to get them merged to gether nicely? please papa c.roland!! ;)

Well, the fast answer would be (in object mode) select the two object you want to join (exemple, Stalin part and Isabella body) and than go to object/join object (The two object MUST have the same material before to do it, if they don't, the export will split the object). After this, you merge the verticles (In edit Mode : alt+M, or Mesh/Verticles/Merge) and than you rig yhe new stuff.

I know it can seems complex like this, but I am very busy right know and I do not have time for an other tutorial. We will release the Shadow phase of FFH in december and Kael will kill me if I do not create some new units for him :D . I like to see new Leaders for civ so I'll probably write this tutorial, but not in November. It will probably be in end December, when shadow will be released and when my christmas holyday will begin.

So, something like December 23, is it ok for you ?

^That's good, for now I can settle with the "fast answer". ;) But I definately think you should write up a tutorial when you have the time. :D

yeah, good question :)

Rigging is the action of linking verticles to bones. So when you rig an arm, you select all the upper arm verticles and you link it to the upper arm bone of the armature.
