How To: Make Leaderheads! Ekmek's Guide

I decided not to reinstall Blender. I just used Ekmek's leaderhead package and it worked fine.

Hi, Ekmek. I need to put to Peter of Russia in Civ4 Col for a MOD, but the problem is: Peter don't have ring animations. What do I do?

depends what you want to do.

if you wnat to edit the model to use the animations its going to take some work (hours if not days)

if you want any of the regular animations to play when the king offers the ring instead of just staring you can edit a kfm file (much easier, 3 min job for me tops)

The Spanish King is based on Peter, so it shouldn't be so hard.

I've never played Colonization. What do you mean "when the King offers the Ring"?

colonization has extra animations for the king leaders. at points in the game the king demands something and symbolically he offer his ring to kiss (see myNero LH) and then there is reject or accept animations. like affirmative and negative animations but used differently.

I haven't touched leaders in awhile because I'm addicted to this one really good game of EU3. :p

Just letting you know, when I get bored of that game i'll get back to leaderhead making.

So I assume this animation could be used for a leader in the regular game. And since I am using a reskinned/reworked Spanish King as Henry VIII in my mod, for example, I could use this as his greeting animation?

I'd imagine this could be used for Popes and even other leaders as well.

I am working at creating Mugabe still. I don't remember if I finished separating Shaka's body. Come to think of it, should I use Shaka for Mugabe? I don't know if he's such a good idea or if Zara Yaqob is better.

While he will require more work, I think the eyes and nose of Zara look more like Mugabe than Shaka's do. But its up to you, to get the shape of the face it would be easier to use Shaka as it is more round and fatter, but I think the features themselves are closer on Zara. To me its more difficult to work with noses and eyes than it is to work with the rest of the head so I'd use Zara, although its going to be difficult either way so its your call.

yep. you can rename the file or edit the kfm in nifskope

you've been talking about doing these leaders for sometime now. When are you going to post one? ;)

@TheMostWanted:

Ekmek says that, the easiest mode to make a king (present: Russian), is to base a model for an existing one. I mean: When you want to make Peter the easiest way is to use the Spanish King for base. When you want to make other king, there are 4 available king in Civ4Col. If you create a new king from an existing one, It will animate like the based. (ex when you based on Spanish king, your new Leaderhead will animate like the Spanish King)

Did you understand?

When this isn't enough, sorry I can't help. When I want to make a king, I use this mode.

But you know what are you doing.

help me: I'm making a Civ4 Col about Russia in America. I like a king with ring and reject or accept animations, affirmative and negative animations.

well i can whip a quick kfm that plays the standard animations but they won't have him holding a ring like the other ones. if you are ok with that i can do it.

Otherwise I'm too busy to edit Peter to have custom ring animations.
