How To: Make Leaderheads! Ekmek's Guide

Hey, OK I have a problem with importing the boneless suit... it just doesn't.

Yes i tried global veiw like you tutorial said.

The comand prompt shows a few stuff, but nothing like Warning or error
It looks like this:

When you exported the suit- did you select it? Make sure that you select everything (by pressing "a") when you export stuff. Check the exported .nif you made (in Nifskope)- I bet it's empty.

it i sreally messed up. but I have a few questions:

1) did you try unchecking the skin modifier? I think that add partitions.

2) Why did you pick churchill? that LH has a lot of problems from the get go.

3) What model changes did you make. It looks like the hat mostly. I can save that part easy.

4) what's wrong with the Sam Houston in the DB?

Could you link to the existing Sam Houston LH? I can't find it :x

It works, thanks.

Ok, after I setup the suit to the bones and tried to export it says that there are underweighted ventricals, it does not export and the command prompt looks like this:

Hello, anyone there???

We're here! Someone will answer you sooner or later.
Since I'm the first I guess I'll try to explain (although I'm really bad at explaining, so I won't blame you if you don't understand).
Anyway, you probably meant "unweighted vertices"- this is something evry LH maker goes through, it is annoying, but after you get this error a couple of times you learn to be more careful. What it means is that not every "triangle" (lets just call them triangles) is assigned to a bone. What you should do is- since you attached only the suit- select all the bones you attached the suit to and hide them (in edit mode). You'll probably see that there is some piece of the suit you didn't notice and forgot to attach.
I hope it was clear. If not, I'm sure Ekmek or The Capo will come here soon and explain it better than me.

Glad to help. If you read this thread you'll see Ekmek had to solve this problem for us more than once.

Ekmek, in your LH-Guide when you teach how to shader old LHs you say you need to import the original LH and copy it's texture onto the custom LH. Actually, you don't have to. All you need to do is copy the missing texture files (all the SPEC, NORM, ENV...) and link them yourself in Blender. I tried it now and it worked perfectly. The best way to learn how to do it is to shader one part of the LH the way you said and then compare the shadered part to the unshadered one and just copy everything. I know it sounds a little weird without pictures. If you want I can make some screenshots of what I mean.

please do some screenshots you and nitram have more experoience with shaders than I do by now.

what about all the extra data that used to be dropped? See my Santa Anna (he needs shaders) there is alot of stuff missing.

I'll post some screenshots and explain everything in them so you can add them to your guide and explain it better. I can't really explain because I don't fully understand what I am doing, I just look at a shadered part and copy the same settings it uses. The fact is that it works and I can show you how.

Ekmek, I hope, these pics help!

Hey, I was hoping one of you guys could help me out with this thing. It isn't an LH but I need this unit's head, damn it! Can someone please try to import this into blender for me?

Please!

Hey Ekmek, I was testing Haakon, and there seems to be some problem with the texture. I can't seem to figure out what it is.

Did you add shaders? If you didn't maybe this is your problem- add them and the texture will show.

looks like you used a nonshaded nif. I think the trouble shooting in my guide answers this.

@capo. i had no time to look at the unit. sorry. whats the problem?

I couldn't get it imported into Blender, I tried everything. Mechaerik said he did but it didn't have a UV map or something, but he didn't send me the blend I was just seeing if anyone else had any luck with it.
