How To: Make Leaderheads! Ekmek's Guide

I think the texture effect affected everything because its on the outside branch. Look at how victoria's tree is. I think you need to add it as node and have the triships and affect in there. Also look at the material properties. I think the jewel is colored that way (I did a quick test on victoria and changed it to green).

Okay, I figured I'd have to do that, but the problem is I don't really know how.

@IgorS
How is it screwing up the ani, ations my original meiji was based on taizong. maybe nifswap before import???

Remember the problem your old Kossuth had? Same thing here. You say I should nifswap Sejong with Taizong- then import into Blender?

Oh, by the way, I have shadered your Metternich, Maria Theresa and El Cid. I won't upload them meanwhile (mainly because you're too busy to take care of that right now). I am planning to release my own mod soon- all the shadered LHs will be there and you can dl them whenever you want.

I think you should post those LHs, at least in Ekmek's thread until he gets around to DLing them, they are his LHs after all.

Anyone know what I can do about this Jewel problem (and the Mehmed turban issue too?), I'd hate to release Chandragupta unfinished, but at the same time if I can't really figure out how to fix it there's no reason to hold it back.

tell me about it. They better make it blender compatible. Plus who is up for converting there civ4 LHs to Civ5? We cant let all these guys/gals go to waste!

quick and dirty animation editing (its what I did for Santa Anna's greeting)

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=8912164&postcount=87

this might be the place for it. i plan to add it to my guide but maybe some of you nifskopers know some better details.

Basically its editing animations though nifskope. Its a quick and dirty way to get a unique greeting animation for a LH but I'm sure you can use it for units too.

Anyways, you open a kf animation file in nifskope then edit the stuff you see in red in my screen shots to make the animation play just the beginning or the end of an animation.

I can't seem to seperate the Torso from the rest of the leaderhead model. What's going on?

As it turns out, I can, though I can seperate the torso, though it seems that the collar isn't part of it. Do you have any help?

You have to Select Parts of the pocket and collar then press ctrl+L to select the connected triangles. you also have to select the sides of the collers too or the sides wont be selected.

Thank you. Also, I'm also having difficulty seperating Ramsses's crown from the rest of the body. Can someone please help me on that?

is hitting CTRL+L on the crown highlighting the whole head. If so you need to do the 'hide" technique in my guide.

highlight the parts of the crown that touches the head and press h it will hide some of the polygons. do this enought so when you hightlighta piece of the crown and press ctrl+L only the crown highlights then press alt+h to unhide the other crown pieces. I usually adssign this as a new bone. but at this point you can separate it.

Im unable to export my LH's, i cant figure it out. it comes up as an error that says that i have unweighted vertices, i have no idea what that means. please help:cry:

did you look at the troubleshooting section of my guide?

unweighted vertices means you didn't assign some part of the triangles/texture/mesh to a bone.

Yea i looked, gone through and selected every vertice and they are all assigned to a bone. whenever the error comes up it says it will highlight the unassigned vertices but never does, so i cant figure out how to fix it.
