HRY1 - Monarch SG

I'ver got it. Due to RL commitments and a death in the family, it may be a few days before things are finished. I will play my turns ASAP (probably tomorrow or the day after) as I do not wish to slow things down. Any pointers?

Only pointer I need to give you is...

EXTERMINATE FRANCE

We have MA's with everyone and they run out in 13 turns so we need to keep fighting and not make friends.

They have no saltpeter so expect few musketeers and IIRC we can just run over them with Cavalry.

Also keep the tech race up and DONT switch to Democracy yet.

Although I think we should AFTER the war.

Melifluous

PS. Also condolences to you and your family...

My condolences to you and your family:(

Pointers?
Melifluous said it, Exterminate France, and don't sweitch to democracy until after the war

Hey, I just got back from a trip out of town that was on rather short notice. Whoever is next can take my turn for now, as I need a day or two to get back into things. Sorry about the lack of information on my part--it was on short notice. ;)

Here is the save.

Perturn
All is looking good. The French are down to a handful of cities (which I plan on liberating from the oppressive Joanie) and we are up at least one tech on the rest of the world. A quick scan of the French territory reveals they do have a source of saltpeter (I contemplate building an Explorer to take care of that). Hawk WM for 24g. Move some cav to Marseilles (staging point for invasion on Rheims).
IT – Carthage and France sign a peace treaty. Greece makes peace with France. Dover: cav -> musketman. Vino: courthouse -> worker.

T1) 900 ad
Move cav stack outside Paris (attack next turn).
IT – London: barracks -> JS Bach’s (prebuild for Smiths). Hastings: cav -> musketman. Warwick: cav -> cav. Manchester: barracks -> musketman. France is building JS Bach’s (you’ve got to be kidding). Egypt is building JSB’s.

T2) 910 ad
Stack of 7 vet cavs attack Paris. One dies and two are redlined as we take the city with out elite knight (still no GL). Put the Parisians on a strict diet (I expect some to die).
IT – France and Spain sing peace treaty. York riots (give em a clown). Cantebury : cav -> bank. Bacon: cav -> cav. Liverpool riots (give em a clown). Fishincowhorse riots -> clown (we need some more luxuries pronto. Ditto with Mr. Roger’s. Vino: worker -> musket. Manchester riots (we need to end this war soon). Tundra Whalers: barracks -> musket.

T3) 920 ad
Increase lux slider to 30% to quell all the riots (It’s like the English hooligan football fans are taking over – riots everywhere). Moving troops and letting them heal.
IT – Carthage and Russia sign a peace treaty. Carthage declares war on Greece. Magnetism finishes (start Theory of Gravity to get us into the next era – 5 turns @ -16gpt). York: cav -> cathedral. Nottingham: cav -> bank. Carlisle: barracks -> marketplace.

T4) 930 ad
Change Warwick to marketplace (this is a builder’s game, right?). Move troops towards Rheims.
IT – France and Rome sign a peace treaty. Rome and Russia sign a MI vs Greece. Rome declares war on Greece. Coventry: barracks -> cathedral. Liverpool: cav -> cathedral. Leicester: barracks -> courthouse. France is building JSB’s. Start siege on Rheims. Elite musketeer redlines vet cav (cav retreats). Vet cav wins over pike. Vet cav finishes off elite musketeer. Cav is redlined vs spear but wins. Vet cav kills spear and we take Rheims (and the Dyes!). Now we have three luxuries (can turn down the lux tax 20%). Change Mr. Roger’s to cathedral. Theory of Gravity is due in 4 turns @ +43gpt. Change Paris to Temple. Rush a settler at Orleans to fill in gap between us and the Celts.
IT – France and Russia sign a peace treaty. Orleans: settler -> musketman. Hastings: musket -> musket. Dover: musket -> courthouse. Reading riots (give em a clown). Cambridge: marketplace -> musketman. Ipswich: barracks -> musketman. Celts are building Shakespeare’s Theater.

T5) 950 ad
Move cav stack to Tours (attack next turn). I see some Beserks and German knights in the area (no threat though). Change Vino to marketplace. I just realized we are in the rather short Age of Sail (change production at Fishincowhorse to Man-O-War).

Due to RL commitments and time constraints, I will end my turn here. Sorry I took so long with the game. Hopefully things will go smoother for my next turn.

Some RL problems have come up, and I don't think I can play civ for a while. I need a skip.

Things will hopefully be settled down in a few days, though.

Let Ville take my turn for now. I will play after him. I am having some technical difficulties that are only now being resolved, so I have been rather busy. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Things are a bit hectic right now, since I just moved back into my dorm at college.
However, I might take the save if Yaype and Ville aren't up to it.

Hey guys, I really don't have the time to be participating in this right now. It would be unfair on my part to make you guys have to wait on me any longer, so I am going to open up my spot for one of those lurkers on the list waiting for such an event. Thanks for organizing this and getting it going, but circumstances have conspired against me for now. :(

So we are only 4 now:(
Ville
Melifluous
Hooray
Brewster

Is that enough or should we get more players?

I have no problem with another player joining this game. We are in a winning position and should not have too much trouble finishing off the competition.

What victory condition are we aiming for? With this being a builder's game, I think space race sounds doable.

Turn 0- Checking the situation

Turn 1- Germans capture Tours, We captured Rouen, Some cavalry finished> Marketplace, Bank etc., I upgraded some of the pikemen (8x30 gold=240 gold)

Turn 2- Toulousse and Dijon captured, hmmm...What's good name for a border city which is in Celt-English border:confused: You'll see that when you play:D

Turn 3- Vikings declared war on us:eek:, I'll get that b*****d:mad:, they attack Rheims. We lose some cavalry.
I counter-attack them and they lose 1 knight. I don't attack more units because they're on hills or in Jungle. Oh, and we entered Industrial Age. I started researching economics.

Turn 4- Attack berserks on flat land and kill 2 berserks. I get cavalry back to cities.

Turn 5- I attack Vikings.

I didn't play more than 5 turns because Vikings declared war on us and I didn't want to do anything like getting alliances (War Weariness). Just build Men-o-War so that they can't get coastal cities with those bloody Berserks.
