Civ1 is great. And so many people now want it. Yet it is not available anywhere.

What a shame.

I got mine luckily on Computer Games October CD with the magazine.

Otherwise I would not have it.

I think it is sad that Microprose or whoever can not make this CD available.

What is their reasoning for holding out?

And so people want it and are not able to get it. Why? Surely it would not interfere with Civ3 sales.

I know some of you would be willing to pay for it. But it is not offered for sale.

Not a nice picture IMHO.

Instead of pirating, you can still often get Civ1 at Ebay or other such auctions. :yeah:

No need to get criminal. ;)
:D

Well, Microprose became part of Hasbro which in turn became part of Infogrames which distributes Civ3. Firaxis has no rights on Civ1 though, but Sid Meier could have some personally.

But you never know if they still have all those legal documents and copyright paper etc etc.

Also, they don´t really care what actions would really please their customers (Infogrames). So it´s unlikely they will do it anytime soon.
:D
