I'm finally starting to get bored of this mod! >_<

can someone suggest ways that I can play to renew it? When I select the Lanun, I always end up selecting a water stage so that I can actually have some semblance of power. when I select the hippus, I have to limit myself so I don't win within the first 100 turns. but strangely enough, with anyone else, I always get screwed over by something. o_O

Most of my games are played on the Noble difficulty, as anything higher gets me slaughtered instantly (unless of course I rush with the hippus, in which case I win regardless of the difficulty setting). on small world.

Also, vampiric hemah w/ twincast & meteors = fun.

Well, you certainly deserve some sort of prize for being the first (maybe the last;)) person to say he was bored with this mod.

Personally, I could never get bored for two main reasons:

1. The variety the game offers. You really need to experiment with the different civs available and the many options to choose from for your games.

2. The constant change and improvement the development team gives us. Have you downloaded .31c yet? There is enough new stuff in that to keep me entertained for many hours.

BTW, I often find I enjoy the games I lose just as much as those I win....;)

Not to be mean but you sound kind of newbie especially not being able to go above noble. It would suggest you do not really have a powerful understanding of the more intricate parts of the game. I only get the idea you have not experienced every race or powerful strategy.

Switch the settings around, etc and do not play it excessively, like any game.

also, there are plenty of tips in the strategy section, which should help you get past a tough early game with other civs aswell, allowing you to try out various unit combinations (golemns, sheiamsn planar gate units, bannors crusade etc.)

You can also get variety by choosing different types of maps. A large archipelago plays very different from a standard pangaea.

if not for the oos, you would be able to play with "real" people

I will agree with several others and say you need to challenge yourself more by playing harder settings. For me, I also started to get bored of FFH2. I fixed that by trying civilizations I was not used to playing, upping the difficulty (and no AI building requirements [I tried raging barbs, but that seemed to hurt the comp more than me]), as well as not cheating. Not cheating was a big part of it, too, as I almost always used the world builder to give myself a slightly better start.

New content is also constantly coming in, through mod-mods and new patches/versions. That also keeps it interesting for me.
