I just saw a black guy with a Hitler mustache!

I was walking to university when I passed a South African immigrant in his 30's with a Hitler mustache! He just smiled at me and moved on… This is the SECOND (not counting Mugabe) time I have seen a black person with a Hitler mustache. He looked remarkably similar to Mugabe. Is this some sort of new mustache style in Southern Africa or does it show respect for Hitler? Why in the world would a person of African descent grow such a mustache? Don't they realize they Hitler disliked blacks and considered Africans sub-human? What are your thoughts?

Hitler did not kill Africans, even if he considered them subhumans. They probably just have a bad taste, this beard is btw not exactly the style of Hitler's, but it still sucks.

Seriously - I think its probably just some sort of fashion statement. I know a guy who had a moustache like that to hide a birthmark, although he had a goatee as well.

Maybe they're seeking to show respect for Charlie Chaplin. Why should Hitler have the monopoly on that style? After all, there are plenty of people with floppy fringes brushed to the side (mostly Young Conservatives, I grant you...).

I actually know a kid who had a Hitler haircut for years. His hair just naturally folded that way.

Actually, Hitler wasn't a vegetarian. That's a common myth. He was kept on an intermittently vegetarian diet by his doctor, but when not on it he liked to consume large quantities of bratwurst and the like. He was Austrian, after all!

Even today, vegetarianism is rare in Germany. It's normal to eat meat even for breakfast.

No, I haven't. Nor a strange hair cut. But if I chose to grow one, it would be for some (rather strange) fashion reason, and certainly nothing to do with hitler, mugabe or pol pot for that matter!

Well, Mugabe is pretty much a black-Hitler.
