Well mods have it tough. They have to deal with the riff raff, read tons of posts, and make sure everything is running smoothly in their domain of responsibility. They have to take things more seriously then the average joe, and they have to make sure the rules made by those above them are followed. All of this while not being able to operate like a regular user. They can't post what they want and they can't react to a post the way you or I would. They have to act on behalf of the site, which means they have less freedoms then the regular user.
I was once told on another site that 'he is a moderator, he can say whatever he wants'. That individual was told 'no, he is a moderator, he cannot say things that conflict with his job and rules of the site he moderates'. Well, that isn't exactly what was said, but that is the gist of it. A lot of users think being a moderator would be cool because you can do what you want, well you have less rights as a moderator then as a poster adn you anser to a higher authority as well.
Moderators in general get my respect, I know how hard it is first hand. Some moderators act by out-thinking the riff raff, some act with an iron fist, and some act with an analytical mind, and 1000 other variations. My point here is that the only one who can say they are right or wrong is the admin they report to. Whether joe user likes it or not, as long as the admin is happy, the mod did their job and did it well. A tough job to do indeed.
Enough of my babble.
Enjoy and behave peoples!
