I have installed all the package, read all the instructions (I'm italian, I don't think I understood all...) but I still can't find the saved games to start a game.
The GOTM 21 for exemp, where is it ?

If you have downloaded the Gotm21 files then you have a text file that contains the URLs for the Gotm21 start files. each pack contains a similar readme file, or later ones have it on one screen of the installer.

I have downloaded/installed the gotm21_ptw_full_setup.exe (3.7 Mb) but I don't see any read me.

If you have played this gotm 21 could you please tell me where can i download the start file ?

I played it on a Mac, so I don't now the PTW installer, but if there isn't a separate readme file it should be displayed in the installer.

Anyway, as the competition game is over now, I guess Cracker won't mind if I quote the readme from the Mac version:

Once you have completed this setup procedure, you should be ready to play the Gotm21 game when the files are released for play on July 1st.

YOU NEED TO CAREFULLY CHOOSE THE CORRECT INTENSITY LEVEL OF THE GAME YOU WISH TO PLAY and then download and play only that one version of the game.

You will find the starting save files at the following web addresses:

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_start_v129_open.zip

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_start_v129_conquest.zip

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_start_v129_predator.zip

Starting save files will not be available until June 1st.

Consult the descriptive discussion threads in the Civ3 GOTM forum on Civfanatics if you need additional help to decide which game file you should download and play.

Good luck in your game and please be sure to read the online game instructions so that you will be prepared to participate in the discussions that will be opened to support this game.

Hope this helps :)

Here are also the links to starting save files for the PTW versions of Gotm21:

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_start_ptw_open.zip

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_start_ptw_conquest.zip

http://gotm.civfanatics.net/games/saves/gotm21_start_ptw_predator.zip

The only reason you do not see the links often posted is that in spite of everything we do to support the game play experience, we will get numerous people who will ignore the game setup process and just downlaod the games directly and then create issues about the game crashing that we then have to chase down.

After the game is closed for submissions these old file links should easily be available but we hope we will not still get lots of screams for help when the game pack install got deliberately skipped.

Good luck in the game and hope you have fun,

Thanks.
Anyway I want to play first the gotm21 'cause I want to understand all the new things you have inserted in it :)

I guarantie that no help scream from me will appear in this forum ;)

Thanks for the no screaming pledge.

I hate the sound of screaming (except for certain individuals) as I have a Pavlovian response that associates the sound of screaming with the smell of burning flesh. Not a pretty picture unless you are Robert Duval for a day.

Don't hesitate to also take a look at the spoiler discussion threads for Gotm21 after you get yourself far enough along in the game to get past the key knowledge criteria that are always spelled out in the first post of the spoiler discussions. Since you are playing the game on your own, the spoiler thread rules are not necessarily to prevent cheating as much as they are to help you avoid spoiling your own run and games until you have something to compare. If you read the spoiler first and then play the game, where's the challenge and fun in that?

Have fun!!

Thanks for the advice, but I play just for fun, if I look into the 'spoiler discussion' where's the fun ?
;)

Actually it adds to the fun. Look in the spoiler section AFTER you've passed the mark for the spoiler. Then you can see how other people handled the game you played. It helps you learn to become a better player. For example, in GOTM 21, you might get 10 cities by 1000bc and be two techs away from the Middle Ages. Someone else might have 15 cities and already have Feudalism. How did they do it? What can you incorporate into your game and learn from how they did it?

That's what the spoilers are for!

Of course it is.
But I were talking about the post of cracker, I know the sense of spoiler topic, anyway thanks for the explanations :)

 No, definitely not a pretty picture...
Ehm, have you got anything against this  too, or is it just the sound?

I wonder who those 'certain indviduals' are... Are they still alive, btw? ;)

Welcome, fellow Italian (a meno che tu non sia un pisano o uno juventino... ;) ). And nice playing! :)

Excuse my for the italian test I have written, but I'm so happy I founded a brother in this forum ;)
