I also once managed to talk to a bot for about 10 minutes.

The spam on ICQ can be overcome. I'd rather have an instant messenger like ICQ with spam, then a sucking messenger life MSN without spam. But everyone's got his preference.

I actually use both. But when I've got someone on ICQ I talk to him via ICQ, not via MSN.

A nice way of the mesages not popping up and getting in the way is setting your staus to Not available where you can still talk to friends but ignore the spam.

Messenger is alot better than ICQ. No spam, group conversations, can see who is typing and return actually sends the message.

Do you mean AIM? AOL sucks, nuff said about them.

Onto ICQ spam. You can reduce pretty much all spam by not accepting messages from people that are not on your contact list. I have only gotten 2 spam messages in 2 months since I did that and they weren't actual messages they were request to let them add me to their list. I just dclines and ignored them. So, ICQ is useable once again!

What version do you use Palehorse, I use an older version and I dont have the option you do, seems as though upgrading might be the answer...
